My folks grew up near here but moved south in 1959. It's a beautiful lake with some of the most fertile ground in America. Can't blame the indigenous ppl fighting to keep what was theirs. Such a blight on our history....reservations and the theft of their lands preceding those.

The earliest remains of humans in North Americans were of Proto-Europeans starting about 28,000 years ago, and they were displaced by waves of incoming Siberians. Genghis Khan was the exact same Siberian DNA as the Native Americans, and he attacked and massacred 50 million Europeans before 1492, and they caused the Black Plague wiping out half the population of Europe. It was genocide because they were trying to spread it, by catapulting diseased bodies over the city walls. So, who's to say when this conflict actually started?
