My brother had a new one and it was at the BMW dealership every 6 months having a $2k-$3k repair done. He had the HVAC blower replaced twice, high pressure fuel pump, other stuff I forget, but as soon as the warranty was up he sold it. Loved driving his car though, it had coil overs and sway bars with some sticky tires, felt great and was very fast with simple bolt ons it ran 11.4 in the 1/4. Would never own one myself but they are fun cars.

I think it really shows how much effort you guys are putting into doing this giveaway car the right way. When TST does something, they always give it 100% of their best effort and it really shows. Kudos to both Matt & Zack, and Ofc the future winner who’s getting a bangin 135

Was really hoping you guys would address address the super soft and probably worn subframe mounts for something either poly or solid as it adds minimal nvh, and wouldn't to be to hard to install since the subframe is already out. Some sort of lsd really helps these cars. M3 arms to tighten up the front end. All small stuff that really helps make the car feel precise
@ninthcloud63312 жыл бұрын
I was also hoping they would address the subframe mounts. I have an E46 M3 and not too long after 100,000 miles I decided it needed to be done. Do you know if this is also an Achilles heel in the 135?
@slow.e822 жыл бұрын

Not taking the time to trim the front top lip of the plastic duct work to get the CSF intercooler installed is disappointing. The bumper was off, perfect time to address the fitment issue which CSF should have informed you that minor modification would be required. The stock FMIC even cleaned will heat soak after one good WOT in 2nd or 3rd gear. Once IAT gets over @ 120 to 130F, the car will pull timing and reduce overall power.
@Bestwick19832 жыл бұрын
Plus its really simple. Not sure ow they came to the conclusion it was a lot of trimming.
@WedgePerformance2 жыл бұрын
@@Bestwick1983 Agree, I have this FMIC in my 335is, I think we took about 1/2" off the top front edge to allow clearance for the step while keeping the ducting intact. Hopefully they revisit. It would be a shame not to address this issue as it really is a critical part of the performance and reliability as IAT can lead to detonation which could be catastrophic even at stock HP levels. Even more critical tuned.
@Bestwick19832 жыл бұрын
@@WedgePerformance I guess they think their milder Cobb tune will be OK with the stock cooler, whereas those of us in the know realize that anything over stock boost exposes the IAT weakness.

@ATStone2 жыл бұрын
Would've been worth it to do the minor internal cutting for the intercooler. The stock one is extremely easy to heat soak. I saw extremely high IATs doing 4th-5th pulls.

I get that cobb is a sponsor but I had the cobb on my n54 when I first got it, it was not that great compared to the MHD flash I'm running now. It's like comparing stone age tech (cobb) to quantum mechanics (mhd). you should just flash stage 2+ 93 MHD and tell cobb their dinosaur aged toy worked great.

Probably some rattle but I’m sure they hold boost fine. When i worked at a german only shop in GA, very few n54’s needed new turbos. Did more injectors, coolant maintenance and upgrades on 135i/335i’s than blown turbos. If your seals hold up you can see 200k miles out of them. Everyone with an n54/n63 should be focusing on getting a set of index 12’s before worrying about the turbos

135i: 44,000$ Mods: 44,000$ Total: 88,000$ 2000 mugs: 98,000$ Heck. If 1% out of a million subs bought a mug that's HALF A MILLION USD. Doesn't include video as revenue and sponsors for the car. Do I smell racketeering? Now I understand that not even 10% of viewers of THIS VIDEO (around 40,000 views at best considering the last 135i vid) will buy a mug, but even then, at 5% of only the people who see the video, there will be more profit made off this car and it's content than most people make in a year.
