The cowtail carabiner being connected into a non-releasable point on the PFD is the dangerous part of your kit. This will continue to trap the user even after the quick release belt is deployed.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the comment. Yes you are correct. The connection point on our PFDs is a plastic D ring which we saw through with a hacksaw blade. The D ring will split if pressure is applied making the whole thing safer.

Great video, quite a lot of technical lingo though for a general public audience! SRT, PFD, mod1, mod2, dynamic window etc.
