I'm so glad someone is buying gold and diamonds! I bought a diamond tennis necklace and diamond hoop earrings and diamond necklaces and I am custom making diamond earrings. I get so tired of us Black women not investing in real jewelry. I'm passing down these items to my children. My diamond collection is pretty impressive and its coming along well! Amen! I love fine jewelry (worked at a store that sold jewelry). Jewelry appreciates in value. Also, it outlives the owner (and can be passed down)...as you are doing for your children. Plus, your kids will have memories of your love of jewelry. If people research the jewelry sales, look at the shopping channel websites (QVC, HSN Jewelry Television), there are TONS of real gold, silver, bronze, copper, 14k clad or Rhodium clad, and gemstone jewelry for very reasonable prices. Anyone is able to have a nice collection if they compare prices.

Show us some of your things. I love real jewelry. I bought some real emeralds and diamonds. But nothing big like you ladies yet. I thought about selling real jewelry as a side hobby. But wasn't sure if black women would be into it.

@@kat64470 if you do review her blog, search for those cross-country flea markets that she mentions that has vendors selling real jewelry for reasonable prices. There is one or two she goes to annually. Maybe you can go & gather pieces you would love for reselling in your shop. Sometimes, she might have to repair or restore a piece. Other times, she has reset the stones into a more modern design instead. Also, check locally for mom & pop custom jeweler you like that can reset or redesign pieces you may find on your jewelry haunts. Some of the shopping networks (JTV in particular and I believe another was ShopLLC ) that have some gems very reduced because limited quantity & sizes. Maybe buy some of those pieces & resale for a profit. If you need to resize, first determine if you can (stones prong-set far down the ring's shank/sides may hinder this...or the under-gallery of a band - especially if a bridge with inset stones). If able to be sized, most custom jeweler or repairers can resize gold within 2 sizes up or down (sizing up will cost because they need to buy some metal to size the band up). Silver, Copper, Bronze - not everyone can size those metals. You need someone trained specifically in sizing those particular metals. If ring band too big, there are other alternatives other than cutting the band to resize. Jewellers can put a bead on each side of inner band to take up slack or a sizing bar to take up the extra space. Hope all this info helps anyone deciding to pursue this business or how to shop and custom pieces.

it is not too much of a difference. I don't think she paid 11,000 USD for that bracelet and another 4k for the other. I think they may have had it made in Dubai, you can go and get gold bracelets made to look like Cartier for about 2-3K or less.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that, I'm all about keeping $$$ in your pockets instead of overspending. I just think people need to be transparent so that others won't try and break the bank trying to emulate them. I've lived and traveled and shopped all over the world so Iike you, I understand how things work in foreign markets and how to get the "deals" and things that appear to be the real deal.
