What We Can Learn From Einstein’s Quirky Habits

The Story Behind

The Story Behind

Күн бұрын

Of all history’s great minds, arguably the master of combining genius with unusual habits was Albert Einstein - so what better person to study for clues to mind-enhancing behaviors to try ourselves? He taught us how to squeeze energy out of atoms, so maybe he might be able to teach us a thing or two about how to squeeze the most out of our tiny mortal brains. Could there be any benefits in following Einstein’s sleep, diet, and even fashion choices?

Omega Alpha I was much the same way as Albert Einstein in his youth. He was a late talker in youth. So was I. His speech was delayed in early childhood. I suffered severe speech impediments for few decades, whereas he overcame his in late teens. I am fine now, thankfully. His education had fallen behind, until something happened in his mid teens. He went from a slow learner to a fast-pace learner. Same happened to me. Einstein was compensated with something in his mid teens. Myself, I lost out roughly 10 years of normal education after I have a fall at 2. I got hit on the head. As result of a head injury, my mind was foggy and I was too slow to assimilate any learning. When I latently acquired some speech plus defects, I started to receive education at last. I was mostly learning to read and write simple words and do simple maths. Learning felt like drudgery, as my mind was still foggy. In my early teens, I was too slow to pick up anything. At 15 year old, I was still learning simple maths like addition, substraction, multiplication, and division. At 16, I suddenly changed when my mind got clearer and clearer. I started to pace up in my learning process. My photographic memory was reaching its peak. With that, I was remembering pages of log tables and equation formulas by brief glances. I went though many maths books in few months instead of some years. At 16, I learned algebra, trigonometry, etc. At 17, I did honour maths, same as first/second year university maths. In school, I also learned mechanical drawing that was once reserved for boys (it was principal's idea to put me into a classroom full of boys for that subject). I learned all that in few months instead of three years and scored A's in exams. Mechanical drawing hugely helped me with maths. When I turned 18, my mind started to slow down a little and my photographic memory dimmed a little. My IQ became average. At 18, I wasn't thinking as fast as I used to. Between 16 and 18, I was a fast-pace learner, but I changed after 18. Whatever chemicals inside the brain could accelerate learning pace and I believe that.

i mean, i think it's not only ok but also necessary to change "who you are" if it's to turn into someone better. otherwise, we'd never grow as people. and basing on big personalities of the history is a great way of doing that, i think. that when we consider deeply they're ideals and, if agreeing, putting them in action. trying to change to be like someone without deep thinking what they're suggesting, just because you like them, that's the mistake, i'd say

I really admire Albert Einstein. My problem is 'Lies' of the internet.. I was obsessed with Einstein in my teens & had a book on him which also said that he would wake up in the late hours of the night because of an idea in a dream he had and would start writing and working, just like the scientist August Kekule who discovered the structure of the 'Benzene Ring'. If you scroll below, there seem to be other people saying this is untrue from the facts they remember as well. We Trust the internet for all our 'information' instead of books. The internet can be feeding us lies, trying to control our thoughts dumbing us down and we can fall prey to it's Lies🌹

The most genius scientist Einstein would make lot of efforts to remember his telephone number. But he would forget his telephone number every time. So he would always keep his phone number written on a chit in his pocket. He would often forget the way to his home from his laboratory, that time he used to request someone to leave him to his house. Unbelievable but true. All genius will have such strange things in their lives.

That's why I was disagreeing with peoples perception that 6 hours of sleep is enough! My brain just doesn't work if I sleep just 6 or 7 hours. I sleep at least 8 to 10 hours. And my brain does most of the problem solving in my sleep. Most of the design problems I stumble upon are solved in my sleep. Maybe different type of people need different hours of sleep.

This is fake. I was obsessed with Albert Einstein in my teens & had a book on him which also said that he would wake up in the wee hours of the night because of an idea in a dream and would start writing and working, just like August Kekule who discovered the structure of the 'Benzene Ring'. We Trust the internet for all our 'information' that can dumb us down and we can fall prey to Lies🌹

@Naf Nafiz Had I known that years later people would come up with a thing called the internet on which they would portray lies as facts about science, history and people, I would have saved that book for sure. Unfortunately I believed in the goodness of the world and did not save the book, so I do not have a reference for you, I'm sorry. I do have my memory & heart, though, that remembers how I wanted to not waste time like Albert Einstein. He did not sleep 10hours each night. Sleeping 10 hours every night is not mind enhancing.

If this isn't a joke: Sleep is your unconsciousness and your brain progressing the data/input you had. So it's not luck, and also his theories were not discovered in dreams, that's just true for the helix structure. But there are a lot inventions done by accident, cause unusual things can discover new stuff. But Einstein just loved to sleep enough, sometimes 10h.
