I was there for this! They were all hilarious but Mark Proksch was especially funny - when he said yes, we improvised “because you know, the writing was weak!” Matt Berry laughed so hard at that. Paul Simms, the urbane, brilliant Harvard educated show runner, indulged all of them but you got the clear sense Simms was in charge and knew how to get the best out of this peerless cast.

I was lucky enough to be in the third row for this! Great interviews and the cast has so much comedic chemistry. I’m so sad this is the final season 💔

24:56 - Shout out to Matt Berry for bringing out the Rocky Horror Picture Show reference! Huzzah! 26:57 - I tried to explain to my kid as we're watching the show that Nadja was doing Melanie Griffith (or likely more Joan Cusack) from Working Girl. The joke loses something when you have to explain it, though. 32:36 - Mark used "The Aristocrats" as a line - I wonder if that had a deeper dialogue than was edited out. I tried to explain that joke to my son in as few of words as possible. Basically I said, "There's this joke that professional comedians tell, same joke with the same punchline, but the goal is to tell the joke as differently and dirty as humanly possible." Which, in itself, is the right answer. But it certainly doesn't reveal how damned funny that joke truly is when handled by a pro. I have to wonder if there's a "cutting room floor" version of the roast episode where we get to hear Colin Robinson telling that joke in full.

I always thought Colin Robinson's voice was a post production dubbing, but I didn't expect it to be the original sound. Really, what's the difference between the actor's voice and the math teacher's voice?
