I bought 5 gifts per kid this year but I think next year I’m moving to four gifts because as they get older it gets more expensive and more difficult. I love seeing what other mom’s buy so I have ideas for birthdays and Christmas. We budget $100 per kid but I can’t seem to fit stockings into that because I refuse to buy junk and tons of candy. Those are usually $30 each! Really gotta work on shrinking that lol

I asked my kids 2 months before Christmas what they want. They allowed one toy. Then I add something small like slime, some sweet, book. And that's is more then enough. I will spent no more then £30 per child for the toy.

Thank you for sharing! We have 4 children. Each child gets a surprise and a want. Stockings are “needs.” We tend to do one group gift (we did a zip line last year too)! In general, we spend about $350-400 each Christmas.

Great job. Yes, Christmas in a large family is so hard. I feel it gets harder every year to as the older ones want bigger ticket items. Thankfully, they can understand big things cost more that’s why they get fewer items than the little ones.

You are so cute! 😁 Love your 4 gift rule! This year I have been so unorganized with gifts! But this year aside, we try and stick with the 3 gift rule. First, one really nice gift they want. Second, a couple different books. Third, a Christmas box (stocking) of neat smaller items. Plus, a family gift ... always a new game or 2. This year I just got a whole lot of group gifts! I feel so scatterbrained this year!!

Great gifts! We basically do the same! We usually do a Christmas Eve box for a family gift with a pizza card included. We always do PJs in the box. This year were the buffalo red and black ones. It's hard with so many children as you well know lol we wrap too. It's just fun to see them tear the paper off. I'm starting in February for 2020 Christmas. Lol

We never charge so we have to budget!! So we really struggled this year. We will have to wait until November for clothes and PJ's but the other we will have early.

I loved anne of avenolea and we took our daughter to prince Edward island, she was 6.5 years old I think and she loved the items in the shop but has never liked the books, movies. I showed her the cartoon version but she couldnt get in to it. I totally loved it!! Shes now 13 and loves gottalife. We got her a book to learn how to draw the characters. Your xmas idea is good, I have heard it before.

This is fun 💖 I enjoy Christmas family videos. 9 kids is a lot! I'm 31 and been married since I was 18. I have zero kids. I don't really have that desire myself to have any kids. It's just best if I don't. I usually spoil my husband and 3 cats for Christmas. Nonetheless we are low income and like to see also learn how others budget too. I’m totally the same with loosely following a 4 gift rule. It’s really more of a 4 category rule to me.. just makes sense when different items are different prices!! My personal system is want, wear, do, read and sometimes share too. Want is usually electronics, wear is fun things like onesies or pricier shirts I normally wouldn’t buy, do is LEGO or magformers, craft stuff, games, etc.

I love how you do your gifts. As kids get older, their gifts seem to cost more. Love the four gift rule. I’d be thinking like you - these two go together so that’s one want. My son is 21 now and I had to retire to take care of my husband who had a stroke. We are struggling to pay regular bills and hospital bills right now so Christmas is not as big as it used to be. I got Daniel and his fiancée a cornhole game that is personalized and has the year they are getting married on it. I felt bad getting them only one gift so I went to Dollar Tree and went crazy getting them lots of silly stocking stuff. There may have been slime, a 💩 splat ball, ninja wall crawlers, a penguin 🐧 paddle ball, and some candy. Even though they are sorta grown, they had a ball with it. I gave them the stockings early because we are out of town for a few days.

We are doing a big family gift (switch), something Mom and Dad make (boys are getting marshmallow shooters, girls are getting dresses), and then a fun food bag. My kids also went to Dollar Tree and bought gifts for each other. I have to keep it simple 😊

I have not even started thinking about my daughters xmas. I have my necie and nefew xmas parcel planned. That is it. Hubby lost his job and my daughter is sick. we are waiting to find out what is making her unwell, taking a long time. She wanted a cork board for her bedroom, mascara for her birthday. Shes just turned 14. I will give her 2 lots of hair dye, light lavender blue and reddish colour Simi dye which will wash out after 8 washes if she will clean her room and help me with some boxes that needs moving to another room as we are rearranging the house around. Having her so excited to help out is cool. Work gets done faster. Now she getting that before xmas I am at a lost what else to get her. I think a trip to the body shop for nail polish and smelly stuff and tickets for ten pin bowling might be a good option. If I give money she buys candy 😡 I'd like to see her print out some her her photos to make albums.
