Good to hear about gardening in a sub tropical garden. It makes for difficulty in summer but winter is very productive for me in similar garden.

You have such a productive garden for suburban block! And so organised. We are trying despetately to get there but our skills and all that mad rain knocked us back a lot. I've written lots of notes from this video. Thanks for sharing.x

Thanks so much for watching. The rain did definitely set us back as well, we just kept planting. We would have had way more tomatoes happening right now if it wasn't for the rain, and the garlic would have been doing a lot better.

We have had the same with our tomatoes. Some are trying to come back and have fruit so fingers crossed. I forgot to say, if you ever do get time to video I'd really like to see how you do the soil blockers. We are at the end of our punnets too. Really don't want to buy plastic.

It is yummy! The k7 we have doesn’t have as much pulp on it as the arabica though

Ps. Did you end up making a video about your soil blocks? Loving this idea. Keep up the awesome content. I am a kitchen-gardener at a school in the glasshouse mountains and always looking for inspiration. Gorgeous garden 😎👍🏼🦋

Love to see a garden here in qld. Your garden is great. One thing for you to be aware of is u say umm a lot. 😢 But keep up the good works

Thank you. I am very much aware of my Um's, it's like an unconscious place holder as I gather my thoughts. I'll have to do a better job editing.

With all of the rain recently, what is your plan for potatoes this year?
@loveofdirt2 жыл бұрын
I am going to pop them in grow bags next month. If it rains lots then I can easily move them. My seeds haven’t got chits yet though so that plan may go out the window
@onarandomnote252 жыл бұрын
@@loveofdirt with the grow bag option have you found differences in yields compared to in ground based on soil temps? I’ve read your blog about potatoes and saw that after many years you’ve found that July to August is the best time to plant them. Was just curious if you have had any experience with differences in yield of a grow bag or plastic pot with higher heat retention compared to in ground?

I have a video of growing in ground, raised bed and in a big container (which is like a grow bag). Yields between the container and raised bed weren’t much different. It all really depends on your soil and how many you try to fit in there but I am sure variety also plays a part. But honestly potatoes are still one that I am trying to get better at growing. They are very tricky here.
