Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh, as you are in the faculty of Qur'an allahummabaarik, why are you only studying the Qur'an for one hour a week and other subjects for more than that. JazakAllah Khair

Good point. All subjects are related back to the Qur'an broadly speaking. In this particular year (first year), Qur'an is one hour because the main aim of that lesson is for students to memorize and read to the teacher. So more time is required outside of class to memorize. We did, for example, have 2 hours of Tajweed per week in that same semester. The Qur'an hour goes through the whole 4 years of the course consistently.

Salam ustaadh I’m one year late but I have a question I live in the uk and would your GCSEs/A-levels affect you going to the university of medinah?

Not necessarily I don't think. But the bottom line is... whatever you study or whatever you do in life... do your best. Many people flop in their UK studies for example thinking 'I'm going to Madinah anyway'... not realising that they will most likely flop when they come here too. As it becomes a bad habit at first and then becomes engrained in your identity (which is performing mediocre).
