As our community tries to understand why this happened, questions are now being raised about the shooter. Who was he? And why would he do this?

No one ever investigates the medications these shooters were taking - that to me is pivotal.

If you are taking medications for severe depression or severe anxiety or anti psychotics it should be documented and automatically disqualify you from purchasing firearms.

Without written legal authority, her taking his guns would have been considered theft. Plus he's 42. She's probably over 60 yrs old. I doubt she could fight him off if he got violent. Would've been one of his victims

He was 42 but he lived in your house and you knew he was delusional. The mom should have at least told the cops and had the guns taken away. He was her child still regardless of age. If you know there is something mentally unstable going on and he is walking around the house carrying his guns….well I would hope any rational person would see why you need to get them away from him and get him help. What an awful shame all the way around here. I hope everyone makes a full recovery.

There was a press conference where it was stated they had already taken his firearms away and they were "determined" to figure out why he still had any.
