What we’ve learned from the foreign interference inquiry

After a spate of news stories and immense public pressure, the government of Canada established the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference to examine allegations that foreign countries like China and Russia interfered in our elections. The inquiry has heard from many high-ranking officials, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, about interference in the 2019 and 2021 elections.
Robert Fife, The Globe’s Ottawa bureau chief, is on the show to explain the main points from the public inquiry so far and whether it will answer the lingering questions around foreign interference in Canada.

I am glad to finally see some investigative journalism in Canada. It is rare. Next in list could be: Canada economic cartels (banking, telecom, unions…), rampart corruption (consulting), follow up residential schools responsible officials and church, the size of government, its overlapping functions and lavish benefits, subsidies and waste of food (milk etc), the broken electoral system which makes harder to change an elected MP, organized crime, double standards for crimes committed by native people, racism and reverse racism, woke culture lack of oversight (what is reasonable), Freedom Convoy links to radical groups and government. Keep the good work and chase these stories. Democracy and the country will get stronger

FreeDUMB convoy links to radical groups should have come long before investigation into whether Liberals were right or wrong to use emergency act. There were leaks from some websites about where convoy funding came from, it came from Americans belonging to groups like Oath Keepers, who were part of groups that tried to overthrow the US government by storming the US Capitol, members of "Proud Boys" also donated. Members of anti-vax organizations as well donated. Also a billionaire from America known for his far right views donated. There were people who donated to the convoy that also donated to the fund to help Kyle Rittenshouse get away with murdering three people. I'm sure there are other diabolical entities and people who donated. Pierre Poilievre should be investigated too, quite treasonous of him to show support of the freeDUMB convoy and literally encouraged them as well and posed for pics with them. His financials should be investigated thoroughly.

That bad framing when you consider the Indian situation had 5 eyes intelligence (*cough* American intelligence) given to JT over the China reports which didn't. One comes from our most trusted ally who spies on the world at large, and the other from our own sources. I largely agree that information can be wrong, misinterpreted, or misinformed, and that you can't trust it all the time. This holds true, and is consistent with how the government deals with intelligence information. But when it comes from the states, and they are choosing to release it, you can generally trust it. They have high reliability.

No, that was bad framing on Bobs part. The Indian intelligence came from the 5 eyes (hint, the states) which is incredibly reliable. Putting stock into it is the right move. The china evidence was far less substantial, thus less stock was put into it.
