"How difficult can it be?" No but seriously, it's not that difficult. Citing Morbius as an example actually proves the point. Fans know what they want. And the first Blade film is kind of the perfect template. That doesn't mean you copy the events, but that tone, the pace, the moment to moment focus on Wesley Snipes' vision really made that movie special. Deacon Frost is still to this day one of the top 3 best Comic Book Movie villains. Right up there with Top Dollar in The Crow. Seems kinda disingenuous or at least socially illiterate to gaslight and say that Morbius is proof that it's hard to make a Vampire movie. More like Hollywood and Disney especially gatekeep the real talent out of the industry or incentivize being a whore and compromising your vision for money. Edit: Nevermind. The leaks of his daughter and him not being the lead add up and marvel has lied about needing to see captain marvel so I don't believe any director. I have a theory. Marvel is making directors quit because of Ali, specifically his age. He's 50! They can't have a trilogy with an elderly man doing an impression of a young martial arts vampire master. So they want the actor to quit because they can't fire him under contract. The OG himself Wesley Snipes was in his 30s when he became Blade.

Actually, Ali was the one that called Kevin Fiegie to play the character. The truth is they NEVER intended on making a Blade movie in the MCU, if he never made the call. Ali was announced as the new Blade years ago, and still no script.

You’re not wrong, but my thing is; for a studio that makes movies about the multiverse, and about an alien that collects magic stones that turn him into a God, and let’s not forget that these movies used to make a billion dollars, then it SHOULD NOT be difficult to make a movie about Blade killing Vampires. Hey, great stuff. People went nuts when Snipes' Blade came out on DnW. I don't know if it was good for one last hoorah, but he brought the house down. As far as midnight sons and Blade, all that stuff seems cool... in October. It definitely is fresh and the opposite of an AntMan vibe, which I think is necessary to avoid fatigue. Maybe definitely don't shoehorn blade connections to the avengers or xmen

I popped so loudly when Wesley Snipes appeared. I think this was his last hoorah - but I wouldn't be mad if he had one more go in Secret Wars when he meets the Mahershala Ali Blade. I was so hyped when they first dropped the Werewolf by Night Special Presentation for Halloween in 2022 and it kind of feels odd that they didn't make that a yearly tradition. Like, the Midnight Suns seem so far removed that they didn't need to necessarily tie into EVERY Marvel project. Just let them live in a connected-yet-distant series. Give the people something that doesn't need to be homework for the big Saga-ending blockbuster.

But really, its not hard to write a Blade script. The problem is, and i will insist on this until my dying breath, is that hollywood writers/producers are legitimately stupid. Any random person would be able to look at the scripts they create and tell them its completely incoherent, no sensical trash. People always mention too many writers and inputs making it a jumbled mess, but the realiy os that a decent writer should be able to cobble a plethora of random ideas into a coherent story without that much difficulty. Hell, random fans bitching on a live stream do that stuff in like an hour of spitballing. Its not like film has that high a bar for atorytelling, its not a novel where people are alowly reading and scrutinizing every word. Films move faster and can blow past details with their entertainment factor, so things just need to generally make sense under limited analysis. But film writers cant even manage that nowadays. There is a bare minimum bar of logical storytelling that they cant even manage to clear. Why? Because they are very, very stupid people.

The thing most people don't understand is Wesley Snipes put a lot of himself in Blade. It's not an easy thing to replicate. Blade has a very large aura and presence, without showing much emotion while being the coolest and loudest guy in the room. Sure MJW can do action scenes but he lacks Wesley's charisma, charm and personality. Honestly most actors won't be able to live up to Snipes. Not only is he a pretty damn good martial artist, but he's a well seasoned and versatile actor. He was one of the highest paid actors in the 90's because of his talent. He was a pretty big name even before the Blade franchise. It doesn't help that the first 2 Blade movies are nearly universally liked. Disney will fail harder than the tv series on Spike. The majority want Snipes back.
