If we get an ogor refresh I really hope we get: Overtyrant Globb glittermaw - the most powerful tyrant currently alive, this gives him the title Overtyrant, it is said he is the size of a gargantuan, wears crimson robes and has teeth made of realm stone (very cool) Or Frost king, Braggoth Varduk - current frost king of the Boulderhead Mawtribes or what was once known as the Svard Alfrostun, he is known to ride either a stone horn or thunder tusk (depending on the strategy he deploys), known more for his genius rather than pure might like Globb, he was frozen in the age of myth in ice but was freed at the dawn of age of Sigmar (Also very cool)

So, as a KO player what I want to see is some Steampunk Mech-suit infantry to give us something tough to put on points, because currently we only have is either "shoot you off the point" with Thunderers, Wardens/Riggers which are very fragile and Arkanauts who are pretty good but don't exactly have the weight behind them that we need; they're the "budget" option for playing the objectives. We've got precedent for Mech-suit infantry in the TTRPG so they shouldn't be too absurd. Alternatively a more aggressive sort of "Boarding Party" or "Breacher Squad" infantry could do, but basically something that we can use to take points without being super fragile so we can do something other than shoot-and-scoot. What I expect is a 5 wound 3+ save "utility" hero who is only good for one specific task, but given that we don't have a "Grundstok" character, and our two main "shooting characters in a shooting army" are both balloon infantry with pretty good combat, they'll probably have some worthwhile shooting for a single model.

I want to love Daughters of Khaine because the minis released for AoS or amazing, especially Morathi. However, they suffer from their core units being old WFB minis that really show their age. I think they at least need updated witch aelves and new altar models. It’d be fantastic if new altars actually had some means of moving, pulled by horses or pushed by slaves, instead of it been hand waved away as just, they move by magic.

Witch Aelves hold up perfectly. They look great and the kit goes together well. I don't see what they possibly need changed about them. The Shrine however would benefit from an update - the Medusa could be better and the avatar of khaine should be changed to Morathi-Khaine. Doomfires as well could be much better.

kinda dissapointed that they just copy the index rules, i thought they were just placeholder until the books come out As a Seraphon player its just sad how much flavour was lost with things like summoning, cosmic power points, teleportation and so on. Its not about strength but what makes a faction unique. So much factions feel like the same tbh, its just an armsrace for the best hammer warscroll, reinforce it and send it in... Std play around reinforced chosen, soulblight reinforced blood knights, ossiarch reinforced deathriders, seraphon reinforced Kroxigors, Orruk reinforced Brutes and so on...

Oh Rob so much emotions to unpack on this one. Also all hail Rob knowing everything in GW haha. I am really wondering why there is PR department in GW letting them know that the things they are doing are so poorly received by the public. Iron Jawz, Kruleboyz, etc. Absolutely agree with you saying that the first 6 months being a huge dropped ball. Why would I pay 60 USD for a book that has no real substantial changes? There is no changing them having all these different departments but in my opinion that is what is hurting them the most. There are armies or units with clear interest in them such as Beasts of Chaos being mentioned almost every week in your stat center. Sure that is world class player and not stormcast popularity. It just feels like there are too many cookie jars and not enough hands.

I am really excited for the new SBGL stuff, assuming there will also be new GG with the Blackknights. I want to work on my ToW/ AoS Barrow Kings army. I also hope that with dwarves leaving CoS it means a CoS wave 2 is swiftly approaching. It would be weird to have 2/3 of the army leave and have no update. For them I would like a new 'greatsword' unit, maybe something like 5 man arch knights and some light cavalry. It is very specific, but I would like some non armored horses.. especially ones that don't have helmets or masks on (seems to be a thing GW is doing on all horses whether it is 40k or Aos.. I find it annoying).

Warcry seems to have been completely forgotten by GW so it’s pretty on theme that it appears in the predictions here…..then doesn’t get spoken about. Think Warcry just got off to a bad start with it being all about Chaos. Then the theme of flesh trees wasn’t particularly interesting to look at. Hopefully Warcry gets a new edition, that I’d imagine would include Gutter Runners, and it can be in an interesting place (don’t make it sewers - sewer levels are the worst).

The point about the battletomes/codices being too expensive, I agree with even if they did get extra content. What is the point of printing hardcover rules when they aren't really collector's items or something you really want to hang onto forever? I remember when I first was exposed to the hobby back in 2008 and the individual books for armies were softcover and I think about $25 USD. Now I know inflation would cause that amount to go up, but I'm sure the main cost of that is hardcover because when I rolled back around in 2017, they were about $40. They really need to assess what really is important with the books and focus more on cost. Like Your first $125 spent on the game shouldn't be two rulebooks.

I think the Gloomspite Spiders might leave the game for the wolf riders (stop that army from being functionally 5 armies in one) but get a thematic Spider Warcry band. I'm certain we'll see a Skaven Eshin Warcry band as well. I bet that's been ready since launch, but they wanted to kick off the new edition of Warcry with Skaven to match AOS 4.0 I hope Seraphon get a second named character. Some Belthanos-esque Saurus champion fighter and/or a Skink wizard on a giant Coatl. Kurnothi themed Sylvaneth would absolutely slap. Ditto on Chaos Dwarves, but I think they're gonna pop up after a year or two into the edition. Also the Ogre refresh will likely be rushed out at the end of the edition like the FEC were. Pie in the sky dreams I'd like them to make monsters cool again. On most monsters in my armies just increasing the companion attacks Rend to 2 or 3, and/or Damage to 3 or 4 would fix them. Maybe also give them a 3+ Save if they don't already have one and definitely should *cough stegadons cough cough*. Impossible dreams I want them to just redo the Orks as separate books with a stronger ruleset.

If we do get new nurgle i really hope to see nurgle specific endless spells and more mortal units. however i have feeling it will be demons. There are rumors of 40k kiling the demon book and splitting them into the god aligned chaos marine armies. Pretty much how AOS does it. there have been a few rumors of new demon kits. DOK expansion would be fun depending what they lean into. I want more medusae and khenerai stuff. OBR and fireslayers i think need the most of expansions with ogres just needing a full refresh.

I'm not buying another battletome or codex ever. The Flesh-Eater courts one was legal less than 6 months before the new edition, and now it's just some fancy paperweight. GW really needs to go full digital for the rules. Really hoping for more warcry focus. It's such a great game, and it has put some absolutely gorgeous models into AoS. Still mad about the Beasts of Chaos thing. After the new Beastlord was released I got so hyped to see what would be next 😢 Really hoping for more stuff for more than one of the thinner ranges, like Fyreslayers and Daughters of Khaine. I have nothing but admiration for the people that collect these armies and have to sit here for years with maybe a warcry warband to add to their army.

Do you mean the armies of renown are garbage from a competitive standpoint? Because I've played around with thanquols mutated menagerie and I don't think it's competitive but it's very thematic and fun. I haven't tried gnawhorde yet but it looks fun too.

Prediction: Even as Battletomes move further away from indexes, they will remain the relatively plain and straightforward products they have all been so far through 4th. Hope: Big, Lumineth scale rework for the Ogor Mawtribes, get rid of the woerd split half way down their army and give them a proper rethink. Wishlist: Regiments and Armies of Renown get in the bin, where they belong.
