Great to hear you're aware of Scott's DECADE system, sounds like you knew of it before. That video you posted about your qualifier round, I thought DECADE is exactly what you needed to realize that golf is just percentages,. If you flip a coin, you can't pick WHEN you get heads or tails, but you know you will get both. Golf is the same way.

TIG I’m your biggest fan, your idea of “ I have to fade this about this amount of yards or draw it, can you really do this at a 60% rate. Only pro can think like this because they can execute it consistently. I see you get into trouble more often than not whenever you tried these shots. You have a natural shot, go with that from tee to green and watch your be around par or better EZZZ. God I wish I have your length, I would crush and enter as many tourney as I can.
@euanaird7 ай бұрын
I always felt that Micah was a good golfer who wasn't sure how to maximize his talent. Maybe got too hyped up into length over position. Kudos to his dedication and refusal to settle with what talent he has. When he can match length with position AND use better course strategy, I think he will leapfrog over those who currently are better. This is an enjoyable series and I wish Micah every success going forward.

No, the only thing he always had was length. Now he slices his driver and lost even that.

Honestly, it is Great to see you adjusting the mindset. We all make bad shots occasionally. You used to struggle after making a bad shot; Every Time. This video, you made the correct mental adjustments and made really good shots (except your putter failed you today... I blame the putter LOL) When you're able to do the same when competing, It will be Fantastic ! It's really enjoying to watch your game became more mature while still having fun.

Decade system is the best, especially for someone like you who self admittedly can get in their head out on the course. You have the benefit of having a simulator so you can get completely dialed in on your yardages and dispersion. Decade system will undoubtedly make you a better golfer, you have the talent tee to green. Can’t miss those 3 footers though, they killed you in this. Still in a real round of golf you would’ve had 9 more holes to get those strokes back, you were hitting and chipping well enough to avoid the bogeys you had, putter just let you down. Only negatives today were the short pull on the par 3 and then the 3 putts. Bad shots happen but putting especially from that distance is fully in your control. You’re doing great though, excited to see your game continue to grow and evolve. Don’t know if this was filed after your chipping lesson vid or not but those chips were money today But with decade you can plot the whole course prior to playing, do your 2’s, take the mental/course management side out of it as much as possible, all you have to do is go out there and execute your plan. Let’s you completely remove a major variable from the golf course. Keep going man you got this

Also, people need to understand that the center of your shot pattern isn't necessarily where you're "aiming". If you play a fade, you may aim slightly left. The idea is that if you were to hit a million shots, that you understand where the middle would be. I play a draw, so if the center of my shot pattern is the center of a fairway bunker, I might aim my body at the right side of that same bunker. In 1 million shots, about 50% should be within 35 yards left of the center of the bunker and about 50% would be right of center, but basically filling a 70yd cone centered on that line. Obviously there'd be several terrible ones way left or way right, but the idea is accounting for as many shots as possible. If you happen to go to the range and work on centering your shot pattern with a large enough sample, and hit 75% left of target and 25% right, then you aren't properly centering your shot pattern, so assuming you take that same swing to the course, you'd likely need to "aim" more to the right than you think. Just understand that the center of your shot pattern is going to the middle of your 65-70yd dispersion. This needs to be figured out on the range if you expect to be consistent off the tee.

There are so many different strategies on the pga tour. If you can hit it 190, play like Bryson. Be aggressive on every tee. You don’t see a lot of 190 mph guys on tour using a 2i every 10 times a round. Tiger hit a lot of 3 woods and 2i at times during his career. But he had an iron game and short game such that he just needed to stay in play off the tee. If you aren’t world class in irons wedges and putter you better take advantage of your driver.

At this point I would say you're a scratch scrambler. Only because of your length and swing speed, are you are able to "get around" a course, but your consistency in your shots is not there yet. I'd love to see you dial it back a bit and keep your dispersion real tight. Looking forward to see if you can achieve your goals.

To settle everyone’s fascination with your self claimed ‘scratch golfer’. Go play and film 20 rounds but they have to be actual member competitions. That means there’s no YT editing, no preferred lie, just real stroke play golf. Then take you best 8 of 20 and see what handicap you have. I’d watch that series

@WorkingFromHomeToday4527 ай бұрын
It's great to see you learning the Decade strategies! 300 for your longest driving target seems way too low for you, unless you have it set for your carry distance. I know Scott mentioned that lately he's had one at his driver carry (~290) and one at his driver total (~320), so I'd think you 'd need one at least set to 330, and then your second one for 300. Your third could be your 2 iron distance. If you need to lay back to less than 250, you probably don't need to see it on the driving target app. If you need more than 3, you'd need to trace them into a yardage book.

Micah do you keep track of the percentage fairways hits? It just seem so low for you. Get that fairways hits tee to be 60%? Higher is better of course. Strategy is definitely NOT your problem, it’s executing successful off the tee and off fairways and putting on the greens is what I see the crux of the problem. You are in the woods and I. The woods instead of punching out the fairways you go for some kind of curve shot to get on the green but then you hit into the bunker. It’s just compounded unsuccessful golf shots is the problem. You have plenty of strategy in your gold game: wind is this , I need to curve this , I need to hit a specific amount of yards, etc. FOGL is the result of inconsistent contacts
