First of all, the cutoffs for all the three shifts will be different, top 6 percent of students in each shift will qualify net according to their category and the top one percent will qualify JRF. Your claim the many students from shift 3 will qualify jrf is completely baseless, if 200 people gave the exam only 2 will qualify jrf. Therefore, there will be three different cutoffs. Students can refer to ugc’s notification on their normalisation process to get a better understanding of the same. Also, the notification released by NTA and ugc about a separate cutoff for phd, clearly stated that the cutoff for PHD will be different and will not be included in the 6 percent net cutoff. It will probably depend on how many seats are available in the universities.
