There's a PC by Aoi that gives a little more insight on the liches. They aren't the actual band, but they were made to impersonate them, though they couldn't initially (if ever) recreate their form, just their voices. The liches made their debut to the public sometime in December 1999.

@@Foogi9000 It's possible they're still alive. The PC has messages from the band's manager and the director of the Hollvania government. The last one, from December 1999, details how On-Lyne was meant to go to Hollvania to calm the unrest, but a recent "outburst" made the Director suggest they send the codas instead, with the manager hoping they'll be able to replicate their physical appearance by then. The first message is from Aoi to Amir, who hacked the manager's PC to steal the messages. She claims to be trying to save the band from their horrible contract, so either the Codas aren't known to be a threat yet, or she knows the contract could force them into a situation that could kill them.

IIRC the actual German word it's often conflated with would be "leiche," but as it turns out the actual word "lich," used for the fantasy creature, comes from Old English "Lic." Which on its own and exclusively in that form would *probably* sound closer to "lick," but within the context of the other words that it survives through (such as lychgate) [and later versions of the same word, like through Middle English] does more heavily support the more common pronunciation.

I hope you're wrong, only because the customizations of the Sisters of Parvos and the Kuva Liches before them are part of the reason I still spawn them. That being said, lorewise it's clear that they are (Spoilers ahead for you all who don't explore, use the wiki, or read in general) clones of the actual boyband members being exploited by their Record companies CEO who came to Höllvania because of the less restrictive policies when it came to human experimentation and innovation. So unless the clones develop their own unique quirks like the Liches and Sisters can sometimes at spawn, it'll get old really fast.

Its German roots are something of a misunderstanding resulting in Old English being a Germanic language and thus having similar roots to its words. While the original Old English word is 'lic', it's also found in such terms as "lychgate", which is a term for those covered gates that lead to some churchyards. By Middle-English it was already generaly spelled "liche," and other related languages also tend to mutate the "c" into something else.

Dude have you played the 1999 parts? The ambience tracks that play in Höllvania are pretty gritty, like Numb, Pick a Side, Infection and Shut It Down. The On-lyne stuff is just a portion of the more Rock-centric soundtrack.

@@orly4672 I maxed out the 1999 stuff in just over the 1st week. I'm legend 2 so my standing cap is like 32,500 per day. But anyways DE just didn't do the grunge stuff enough, they teased NIN in the whispers in the walls and the game looked alot more serious than it was. It's not really 1999 but more like a caricature of it. Maybe it really is just a made up place like Duviri.
