@@skullsaintdead I get concerned with the poor writing everywhere on social media. So many cannot write a simple sentence; punctuation is alien. It takes muster to interpret. I think that the better educated have nothing to do with this mess. Does it matter? Yes, it sure does.

I'm not as good with spelling (I just don't find it as interesting as, say, rewording a paragraph 20 times so its perfect and concise), but I generally do succeed in conveying my message, which, believe it or not, is utterly incomprehensible in some peoples posts. In comments on Ytbe, some of their English writing skills will be so bad, I'll ask if they're non-native speakers. Incredibly, almost none are. Why abuse such a beautiful language? Why not exploit it to it's full potential? Don't they want their message known? We are so lucky to be able to use words in such powerful ways, for 'tis the pen not mightier than the sword'? How did you get a job as an editor, if you don't mind me asking? I'd be curious if I could fit in with that world (I have a degree in marketing which isn't really related, but still, every group project I became the default 'editor' because everyone else's work - a mix of Aussie and international students - was incomprehensible! and I would have to rewrite it the day before it was due!)?
