I feel like with the eventual agent pick/ban phase antistratting againt certain comps will become much more common. Just imagine for example prx banning viper on breeze and just mop up everyone with the breach + neon comp

I don't think there should be agent banning, atleast not in the main tourneys. You should be able to build a strategy with wichever agents you want. Agent banning removes the strategy of designing the best comp.

i think agent banning will actually punish teams like prx when they play like no viper breeze comp. Teams aren't conditioned for them and it creates a big advantage for the weird comp team if they pull it off right.

@@matts.6789 I think the simple fact that Optic won VCT even when Loud banned 2 of their best maps in the finals defeat this argument. You could even say that map banning is even more unfair since the map pool is much smaller then the agent pool. Bans are ofc devastating for teams with clear cut strats and comps. But as a whole they are great for 2 reasons, balance and variation. Bans make it very clear on a PRO level what is balanced or not, which is great transparancy for Riot to develope a better experience ingame. They are also benefitial for the variation in setups to not make the game stale or boring. It gives more of an incentive to counter pick, learn new agents and just be more flexible and creative. Even though league of legends champion pool is alot larger then valorants, it still reminds me of times when pros pick "weird" or off-meta champis to specifically target players/teams they are up against.

I get the point with the multilayer strategys but there is something to consider. The problem with TL is that they give up mid. So they are just blind the hole game at that point and gambit realizing that use mid controls to do whatever they want

they don't just "give up" mid, they thought it was the same fast a execute which happened previously. As such any player in top mid would rotate to halls or onto a site. If you just stayed there, then your team would be dying on A alone if it was not a fake. Even if it is a fake, you'll be having three players peek you at once. Getting one is the best you could do.

The multilayer strategy worked, that’s why liquid conceded mid, they didn’t mindlessly give it up or not have it addressed prior to the attack plan going into action. Players repositioned because the strat worked, gambit conditioned liquid into repositioning of that early drone off shop and double smoke mid because that’s what they had done and won with the round prior.

I look far and I see, the multi layering thing would eventually grow into progressive layers and counters as well... Sort of like, we run strat A and if it works out we gonna run A.2 strat kinda thing... And more agent specific setup/utility counters, like the viper wall on breeze, we been seeing many times now. If any team building a strat in breeze, they should consider a counter/answer for that viper wall, like straight up ballsy stack mid nest, A retake kinda deal. Personally, would like to see more 'reactive' counter callout from all the team leaders, make it so interesting like watching anime. Can also protrude the role of strat crafting.

1. fake strats - do a strat for one round, then after a few rounds, make it look like you're doing it again - have multiple strats that start of the same way but that are very different from each other 2. better timing of utility usage - eg. have the sova dart land just as you are starting the execute - while the dart is still in the air, start droning so you can clear both back and front site at the same time 3. different econimic strategies - example 1; instead of buying full util on ATTACK pistol round, buy only what is necessary - if you win, next round you can have multiple phandals - example 2, simping: on pistol rounds drop your teammates so they can be even more powerful 4. playing weird / cringe / extreme comps while fully understanding them and playing their strengths - eg. triple sentinels on icebox - get the spike down and just defend

I just don’t want valorant to become a game where util is being thrown left and right all the time. You watch someone play overwatch and it’s hard to make out what is going on. Valorant is counter strike inspired and I think the primary focus should be gunplay. Just look at how phoenix has been power creeped to oblivion. Phoenix was a good choice in the early game but he’s useless nowadays. The astra meta was probably the most boring time to play the game. I think riot needs to chill out a bit with some of this util

Well i think they have done good so far. They have generally resorted to nerfing/reworking characters rather then buffing. However imo the thing that makes me play Valorant > csgo IS the abilities and utility. I would love to see team try crazy comps like duelist-less or even sentinel-less. Like super defence ande utility or super aggro and space invasion. Overwatch failed in 2 regards imo, map design and abilities > mechanics balance. Map design is very fun too play on, but horrendous for a e-sport viewer experience. They also made s game where primary function and dmg dealing is the abilities, compared to valorant which is about 50% gunplay 50% abilities or slightly higher/lower depending on PRO play vs ranked (60/40 | 40/60). Csgo however is probably 75/80% gunplay and 25/20% utility so its absolutely the easiest game to watch, but imo not superior in how it feels to play compared to both.

But i will say as far as feels go the shopting in csgo is so much more crisp and clean valorant feels alot more slow abd sluggish

@@kappaross6016 Hmm maybe difference between tickrate aswell since i have never played faceit or similar, but valorant felt MUCH nicer to me. Only reached LEM in ranked then apex legends came out and i was gone haha. But i tried csgo ranked a few weekks ago and i wanted to puke. It does feel more crispy, but valorant feels more responsive if you get what i mean. I have never encountered aiming at someones head with an op when they are standing still and missing. Done plenty of those in csgo (on 64 tick however). They where marketing the game as responsive, and I think that sluggish heavy feeling fits that. Gonna try 128 tick csgo sometime in the future and compare, you got me interested 😁
