I watched full (1 hour 22 minute long) last video of Atul Subhash. As he spoke, faces of many male friends and colleagues of mine kept getting superimposed over his face. Those friends and colleagues who have gone through ugly divorces or are stuck in marital court-cases or are trapped in toxic marriages. How similar the patterns of abuse and harassment have been for all these men! Unmarried life is a happy life. Getting married makes no sense for men under current Indian laws.

If the government introduced a law, why is it so one-sided? Didn’t they think about how it could be misused? As a girl, I believe in protecting everyone equally, and I don’t want innocent boys to suffer because of this. I have a brother, and I can’t imagine how horrible it would be if some toxic feminist misused the law against him. Justice should protect everyone, not harm the innocent. There is a problem in your understanding of dowry death cases. Any unnatural death within 7 years of marriage is called as "dowry death". And 80% of these cases are found to be false. Also, I have filled an RTI with NCRB earlier to understand death by bride burning cases, and they replied that they don't have any data regarding this. In INDIA, NCRB keeps this data and not India Police.

Now for that particular year, that case is registered as dowry death adding to the no., the outcome of which will be known only after 10-12 years after the case judgement comes out.... I was thinking, like Rape and DV Cases, what % of it is false? I tried to get it in NCRB Data available but in vain.... It is good that you had done an RTI and the no. comes out to be 80% is false ( not surprising).... मैरी दीदी को भी परेशान किया था। उसके सारे गहने रख लिया था। बच्चा साहित घर से निकल दिया था। बच्चे को देखने तक कोई नहीं आता। उसका खर्च देखना तो दूर की बात है। दीदी के कैंसर के ट्रीटमेंट के लिए भी उसके गहने वापस नहीं किया था। फिर दीदी की मौत के बाद मे कोर्ट से वापस करवाया हमने। फिर भी कई गहने वापस नहीं किए दीदी के ससुराल वालो ने।

Solution is to review these ancient laws periodically like 5 years and see if they are actually being used to protect citizens or another method of corruption at all levels. Make process of attending court hearings modern through video call. Instead of sending people all over the country to attend court summons. Police should investigate complaints before filing FIR and making arrests of potentially innocent citizens/families. If court hearings are live on video then corruption can be limited. Lets limit alimony to the length of the marriage instead of lifelong, women are independent now so laws need to change with the times. Purjury/ lying in court needs to be punished. Our constitution says all men and women are equal, so the laws should represent gender neutrality. Let the real victims get justice and not spend years in court talking about their trauma.
