what happened too them ? not much would i say the officers, politicians or agents like the guy in the vid spent years in re education camps before released and many of them left Vietnam for U.S or Europe after the soldiers suffered the discrimination from people around them , for being "traitors" , be the one allied with the invaders , many would spent their life in poverty (as the country itself suffered many sanctions from U.S and U.N) , none would hire them , none would help them because simply they were the "traitors" Both Vietcong and ARVN spent years to killing their own brothers (not like NVA , Vietcong were mostly local soldiers) but Vietcong soldiers had a place to return to while ARVN soldiers lost their place in their own country

The former ARVN soldiers and officers after they were released back to the society , they actually received sympathy from people around them , cuz after only 1 or 2 years living under the new regime , Vietnamese people realized all the promises and guarantees of the communist were just bunch of lies . But they also cant not help those former ARVN soldiers or officers much , because the Communist control every aspects of life , and private business was eradicated , food was rationed for each household ....

@@1992trung I acc respect u for telling the truth about the Vietnam government. Many people on social media, especially on KZbin say negative things about the boat people, the arvn soldiers, and the us. They always say that the vietnam gov is the good gov and that they're the superior ones. These people that talk like that are brainwashed.

@@nathannguyen-r6s Well thank you for your compliment . It took years for me to tear the blindfold and see my self the truth , another version of history that was untold . The Vietnamese people mostly are brainwashed from day 1 , and they were taugh that they need no thinking or questioning about politics , and they just keep quiet , work and pay tax like herd of lambs :/ So good of you to get out at the right time , brother !!!

@@elrond3737 it wasn't his decision to make it was that sack of shit Kissinger Martin was mentally having a hard time his son was killed in the war and he refused to believe that Saigon would fall especially as soon as it did so maybe he did have a hand in it but it was totally his boss's decision they should have started that evacuation a month before they did and should have never stopped bombing the shit out of the North.

@@badmonkey2222 They should have started at the beginning of April, say, the 5th, and get them into planes ready to go. Graham Martin was trying to keep himself sane about Saigon, to try to avenge his son's death and he was sick. He had pneumonia. He _never_ forgave himself for the debacle.

America wasn’t imperialist or planning to, they were at a Cold War at the time , they aided the south against communism. I can Tell you this tho.. if south vietnam had won, we’d be looking at another successful South Korea. Bc rn vietnam is still sad, shit low life salaries, the feds n government don’t give a fuck bout u .. so idk why ppl mistaking Americans as imperialism. That was the Japanese during world war 2 in South East Asia, that’s imperialist. Headass. America was just stopping the domino from falling, but it fell so now Southeast Asia is shitty as fuck. If you see pics of it rn, it looks good as fuck and stuff. But it’s reality life sucks in Asia today.
