Just subscribed! Hey man I love your videos. I learn so much. Just getting into mini jigging for like 3 years. I fish salt water in the summer. I'm a big surface iron guy. In the winter I fish the stocked trout in San Diego. I bait and wait but I di like mini jigging, kinda reminds me of chucking iron but with way more finesse! LOL. Hey can I get away with using a 750 size reel? Is that too slow of a retrieve? Thanks

I must say you handled that much better than I would have 😬. I’m all for fishing shoulder to shoulder when theres a good bite goin but it only works if everyone involved is working together and helping each other out. In those cases it can be alot of fun and everyone involved gets into some fish. When guys pull stuff like that it definitely takes all the fun out of it. Great video, glad you posted this up 🤘

Success draws roaming fisherman - "Do you mind if we fish here?" - guess they weren't biting any place else since the boats were also there. Also why I don't use the simple line stringers that you stick in the ground. I use one with plastic loops that I attach to my box. Just plastic with two steel crimps so it does not rust. Had it since the '80s! Survived trout stealing snapping turtles and a blue heron attack

Fishing is about Peace Mike, I totally agree. Really enjoying these videos, especially the Eastern Sierra where I've fished with buddies for the last 20 years. We call that a "Shoulder Pop" in my world. I had a similar experience on a creek up in the Glacier area above Big Pine. Thought it was a buddy shoulder popping me on a nice little pool I had worked my way up to and it turned out to be some, "Flat lander" (just like the guy next to you) and blew me away. Asked just as politely as you, but the dude was absolutely clueless. Another buddy was tossing pine cones from up above because he thought it was another one of our buddies getting in on the hot spot. Funny thing was the guy got upset at flying pine cones, but my buddy Tim had no idea someone would shoulder pop a stranger in the middle of the forest...Keep those videos coming MIke, digging everyone of them and learning some new ideas along the way. Fish On Brother!

I'm so glad you have made a video on etiquette. It happened to me at the beginning of the year and it bothered me so much that I was not able to stop thinking about it. I was teaching a young kid that I met at the lake and we were catching fish consistently. A young guy came right next to us from across the cove and casted across our line repeatedly. I finally asked him to not cast across our line. He put down his rod, stuck out his chest, and said "So, what are you going to do about it?". I was so stunned at what he said and realized that he was baiting me to a fight. What would you do in this scenario?

Last year, I tried a couple of San Bernardino lakes, and it was bad with so many people shoulder to shoulder. Luckily, there's a couple with handicap accessible designated areas. So no more freshwater fishing for me unless it's Mammoth Lakes or the June lake loop waiting for the opening season. So, I still do a lot more surffishing up and down from La Jolla to San Simeon, where there's plenty of space to fish and less rude people. Tight Lines, everyone. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, Stay Strong ✌ out.

Yea it is what it is and usually people are really cool and ask. This was an extreme situation. I’m waiting on the Sierra season too!!! Sounds like heaven right about now! Lol thanks for watching appreciate the comment

That’s right big mike , Og let ‘em know . People just have to be respectful .He could have at least asked for sure. Dope new mini jig though for sure !

Asking would’ve been a good start, probably would’ve said no still but that was unacceptable no matter who it was. Thanks for watching and thanks for the bait compliment! Appreciate it! GET MADE

I fish at pardee lake all the time and sometimes people come fish right next to me and cross my line when they see I catches fish left and right, very disrespectful and one time I almost got into a fist fight with the other person!

Things won’t change because I made this content, but it’s about awareness. Be the better angler and don’t go to jail over it. Take care and thanks for the comment!

Eh braddah, I must say you handled yourself pretty well!!!!! Nothing worst then getting squeezed out of your spot. You showed more class than I might have, after his little remarks.

Agree for sure anglers need there space to cast and have a little room. I get anxiety too being that close to others like that
@TroutMadeAnglerCo2 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly it for me too I get anxious as well. Feel trapped and not having fun I want to be cool and have fun with everyone but need my space as well.

Just bought the dragon fly got hooked up from a buddie I work with. Paired it with the vanford 1000 also a hookup. It’s a sweet rod. I feel like I’m turning into a tackle junkie…..

Nothing wrong with that! 🤣 Get MADE hope you enjoy that setup 🔥🔥🔥

We call that shoulder to shoulder fishing "combat fishing". It's terrible, and it's disrespectful. I too would move. There is no way to enjoy that kind of fishing.
@TroutMadeAnglerCo2 жыл бұрын
It’s unfortunate cause you’re right not enjoying that much ya know when I have to ask people to give me personal space. Thanks for watching appreciate the comment

I remember taking my 9 year old daughter to the local park to fish the dfg dink stockers. There was like 8 people fishing the lake. there were two old guys fishing with their vests and hats with lures in it across the pond. after she caught a couple I look over to see these fools standing right next to her casting in her spot. When I seen that I exclaimed OMG and started walking towards them asking them if they seriously think that was the only place in the pond that was holding trout? They quickly slithered away! SMH

I have the same issue always! I mean elbow to elbow! This is a good video how people are rude and desperate and jealous of people who know how to fish. I come early before anyone everywhere I go. People start coming slowly and are many feet away to other sides of a lake. I land a fish and almost everyone comes running over on both side of me trying to be my best friend and asking what all the setup is and start throwing over me multiple times messing up the line and the spot the bait is in the water. Supper annoying and rude. Firstly there has always been a rule to keep proper distance for courtesy and casting ability and more so when you land a fish to be able to have room to land it. I can't believe how desperate and some are and still don't catch anything. In the end I outfish everyone anyways and they look stupid going home empty handed. Tip: Caugh loud (pretend) and just say you have COVID keep you distance, 6ft or more. Works like a charm. If that don't work fart as hard as you can or at least pretend. 🤣

Everyone else was fishing as close,what’s the problem?All for small stocked trout 😆
@TroutMadeAnglerCo2 жыл бұрын
They were probably friends maybe idk, the problem is respecting people’s personal space. Period that’s a human right. There’s some big ones in there and people like my content and if I can’t fish in peace or fish with someone casting on top of me that’s not fun and videos won’t be made. To each their own not for me, if we’re friends yea. Maybe 😂 thanks for the comment

That's one of the main reasons I personally don't fish stocked city lakes. I understand how cigarettes feel tight inside the box. I enjoy better fishing from my kayak or in the Sierras.

Hey Mike that guy was a complete tool and disrespectful. Especially if that was the same cat that asked and you told him there isn’t enough room right now to fish on top of you. Anyways, a little tip that I’m sure you know of already, when throwing those sick RHA spoons, chuck it out there and allow it to fall to the desired depth and when you start your retrieve point your index finger down towards the ground and allow the line to hit your finger each time you your spool is spinning then keep an eye on how much better the action is on that bad boy. Guarantee you will get twice as many hits on them. Keep it made brotha! I’m going to hit you up via email about that merchandise and embroidery. Been super busy with moving and work.
@TroutMadeAnglerCo2 жыл бұрын

Hey Rob thanks for asking! I left my contact info for in depth questions but there are a lot of great companies to get some baits I support a lot of local SoCal companies and my channel. Depends what you’re looking for I can point ya in the right direction
