I recently had a legal battle with my bitter co-founder once I’d resigned from the company due to lack of respect. It sucks ass, right? The anxiety you get from it is unbelievable. This vid inspired me quite a bit... Thank you.

I graduated from UMass/Boston in '94. I know the era. 56k modem was the next big thing. Love the visuals btw, especially since I am from Karachi and here you only see greenery like this 1000 miles up north. Cool.

Hey Stefan this is a very insiprational video, I like the way you sneek in a lot of technical stuff... The reason I keep asking you what city you were in was I keep watching and appreciate your surroundings is that where I am at theat wood be call the "Sticks" or outer Subrubia... Thanks for the vids and the info as I am more interested in freelance than working for Apple or Google... Chiquito...

On your freelancer course, do you teach about hosting as well? It a big confusion for me? Should I do reseller or not? Also about basic SEO, Google Search Console, how to deal with the client?

Outside of clients, specifically when I'm building my own projects I like to start off by hand sketching a general plan of features and what framework I want to use to build. Then, I will break down each feature and site page into a layout (again hand sketched first). I find that having a plan of what I want to do helps just as much as HOW I want to do it. Is this a common thing in development, and is it good practice to do this much planning?

Awesome video... could you do one about WorkFlow starting out? Like how much communication you need with a client and what things you generally most need from the client so you don't waste of their time.

7 minutes in and you open up about workflow lol.. never mind

ima noob..... whats the difference between a developer and software engineer? is it worth going into a masters degree in software engineering?
@StefanMischook6 жыл бұрын
Pretty much .. with some nuance. In practical terms, engineers will just have access to jobs that people without the degree might not because of HR departments. That said, my engineer buddies are doing the exact same work as any developer ... engineer or not.

Hi Stef, I want a PDF version of your web development book... How do I get one?
@StefanMischook6 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is a PDF version ... my publishers never put out an e-book. That said, the book itself is very well printed, and it looks good.

Hi, what resources can you recommend for finding tasks for money, solutions-> cash)))? p.s. written using google translate
@StefanMischook6 жыл бұрын
What you described is called: starting a business. The key to business is simple but hard: figure out what people want, and give it to them.
@rustemibragimov11086 жыл бұрын
You say the obvious facts. I'm interested in "sources" for analyzing people's needs. What can you recommend for the analysis of demand. Systems such as adwords from google are trivial. Curious alternatives from the guru)
@StefanMischook6 жыл бұрын
It is a process of discovery, too long to write in a comment. That said, step one is understanding an industry or business type deeply, then with that knowledge, you will be able to identify needs that are not being met.
@rustemibragimov11086 жыл бұрын
thanks, the answer made me remember from the sophistry and the maths) p.s. sources of information in the form of your channel, motivate to learn, learn and learn again) learning something new and applying it in the solution.

you might be able to make a lot of money back then but now it is just like any other job, it gets boring and repetitive really quick, also there is a lot less respect for web developers now a days , and then there is a risk of automation due to AI revolution that is happening. things are not the same anymore.
@StefanMischook6 жыл бұрын
Ai will not hit development for years. Yes, slowly and incrementally the jobs that developers perform will change ... but that ain't nothing new. I know good freelance developers who have waaay too much work.
