You can set the GoPro settings to Linear so you won't have that fisheye effect.

I actually purchased this drone from BestBuy about a month ago. First, let me say that this is the first drone I have purchased or flown, but according to GoPro this drone was made for folks like me. I am new to drones, new to GoPro and they claim I am their target audience. So I bought in and ponied up $1200 (kit plus a battery). I was enjoying using the Karma but on three separate occasions while trying to land the Karma it would take off just a few feet from the ground while landing. It shot straight up in the air, I let go of the joysticks (manual and videos says it sould stop and hover) and it rose like a bullet and flew straight off. I had GPS and the battery was about 3-4 minutes left and was landing per the controller instructions. THe first time I was able to get the Karma to respond and land safely, the second time it took off and almost flew into electrical wires. I was also able to finally (and just before it almost hit the wires) get Karma to come back down and land. Again, GPS was on and trying to land before the battery low warning came on. And now the third and sadly final time it took off on its own. I was again trying to land Karma and it shot straight up in the air and took off forward lodging itself 60 feet in the air in a top branch of a tree. A few moments later the battery fell out of the Karma. And there it sits in a tree until I can A) pay a tree guy/gal to go up and retrieve it or B) try and shoot it down which will probably end up destroying the drone, camera and gimble. Since, I spent all of my money on the drone and extra batteries and props I cannot afford to pay someone to retrieve it. If you are thinking about buying this, DON'T. Wait until GoPro can get this thing fixed properly. Otherwise, be prepared to have $1200 stuck in a tree mocking you all while you fight the urge to throw up. I am gutted that I foolishly spent this money and stupid enough to believe the hype.

My Karma works great. Calibrate each time before flying just to be on the safe side. Or send it back.

My Karma has been working great for 5 months, I was one of the first ones to buy it after it was re-released. I made sure to support a company who voluntarily recalls it's products and gives those customers a free $400 hero 5 camera for their troubles. No other company is going to do this. I always land the drone manually and do not use auto land. I would recommend this as you are in full control.

I agree. It does not have the sensors like DJI drones. The Hero 5 Black is awesome with superwide, wide and linear settings. I like the fact you can toggle the setting to video, burs and timelapse (photos and video timelapse). Change the settings from 4K down while up in the air. Give us smooth footages air and land. That is what I like.

Just found this channel as I was looking through reviews on the Karma, Came for the review and staying for the content! A comment you made early in the video "people think I make loads from KZbin" I understand why they think that, your content is high level and in line with people like Casey Neistat and other full time KZbinrs, I can tell you have put so much time and effort into the content! It comes across as high budget pro content and I was shocked by the sub count, I looked expecting to see very high numbers in the millions since that's how this video feels, if that makes sense? Also respect for mentioning mental health, big issue these days and the more recognition the better! Anyways all I can say is if you keep up with this sort of quality content there's no reason you won't be one of the top vloggers. Cheers!

It's difficult for me to find a proper/traditional job in and out of media in the Sydney area due to the work restrictions of my visa, so I decided to try my luck with freelancing, but no success. I did video and social media freelance work in the States, but it's harder for me to find work here, since I don't have a lot of connections yet. Good question. Connections take time to make, sometimes it's about going out for a drink with friends and meeting someone that needs a little freelance clip done, that then could turns into one of their friends asking them who made them the clip and neck minute you're that person and you've got a gig lined up! Keep positive with it. Have content that you can show people straight away and email loads! It's a numbers game :)

I can shoot 4 batteries in the Karma easy before needing to charge the controller, what kind of battery life do you want out of it? It's also using power for the screen, which makes it better than others, don't need ANOTHER device

go pro karma actually lacks most everything; its an overpriced 2nd gen dji at most; so in many ways your so wrong; i remember using go pro with my 1st gen dji; i mean really this it what go pro come out with when there are so many things they should have put on it; wow

It gives versatility of having an areal and land footages. The "grip" is smooth as butter. Giving you cinematic land films/ video clips. DJI is the superior drone no doubt. However, you need to buy an Osmo and a separate camera to film on land. GoPro is the complete package. Do not just look at it on the drone perspective. It is very easy to fly and it gives great footages as the Hero 5 Black takes good 4K video. .

I have had the Karma for 5 months now and I am so happy to have it. If I had gotten the Mavic it would have been collecting dust for most of the time. I use the detachable Hero 5 almost everyday at work, I'm in R&D and make movies to share my work with the team, I use the gimbal on my MTB, Motorcycle, ATV, hiking, etc. I use the Drone about every other week or when we go on trips. It's been a very well spent $1100. Check out my videos for proof.
