❤❤❤❤ I have a special needs son, he is 36 married, 2 children, works, but mama sees him struggling, a teacher laughed at him in the second grade, the entire room laughed, I was watching from the hall, I walked into the room, had him get his things, we homeschooled shortly after that!!!

I would have done the same thing as a mom. How horrible of the teacher to laugh at your son! As a child with severe bilateral hearing loss, it was quite hard in the classroom of hearing students from first grade to high school graduation. I did miss having other students with same hearing and language obstacles that I had. I had adapted pretty well from special ed to mainstream classes in the sixties and seventies.

I’m a mom of a 27 year old special needs child. He is a blessing to me! His never ending love and acceptance of others and pure heart is a blessing to everyone he meets. He is a believer in Jesus and tells everyone that Jesus loves them and is coming back soon. I homeschooled as well after the public school system told me “they didn’t have time to teach my child.” It was the best decision I ever made!

I got told the exact same thing! Our school here has 25 kids (K-12) and a million dollars a year in funding but they said they didn't have time to teach my kid. Getting him out of there was the best decision for us, too!

Just reading the Word and thought to share this- I had it written in my Word-so here goes: Spiritual warfare is like Jesus coming off His 40 day fast and the devil trying to sign Him up on his food program. The enemy will ALWAYS get in your face at your moment of need. Love ya, Patara- Danielle

I’m so proud of you for homeschooling your boys. I’m a retired teachers aide whom worked with special needs middle schoolers and you did the right thing. My kids are all adults now, but in todays “lovely” world I would be homeschooling every child. If people did that then the schools would need to close down.

I was too. I loved working with them. Nothing against regular ed- Special Ed were my absolute favorites. There's a brilliance they have that is just different from everyone else. It's an intelligence on another level and I can't explain it. I loved those kids. I had one student teachers used to comment "I know he's a handful- I know he can be a lot" I'm like what are you talking about he's my absolute favorite he's not a handful at all. Because he wasn't. He was awesome.

Hats off to you. I take care of my special needs sister daily. I credit my Mom ( God rest her soul) for teaching her when the school system failed in the 50s-60s. She is permanently like a 10 year old. I made a promise to keep her out of a home, so far I have been able. I am prepping for my family and sister. She also has physical limitations, but I still garden, mow, can, keep chickens. People never know what goes on in someone else's home or life.

My 64 year old brother had learning disabilities, kind of non-specific, but he struggled with some things, especially Algebra. And he was a little behind socially. Honestly, I find him to still be socially awkward. BUT he has been very successful, is highly valued by his employer, they won’t let him retire, and several years ago developed an Algebra course for a Plumbing and Pipefitting trade school. The approach to schooling in this country is utterly broken, and was never, ever about true learning and bringing out the best in people. It was developed and foisted on the Citizenry to produce factory drones. Since the advent of Compulsory Attendance in public schools the literacy rate went down steadily. Most public schools are little more than very dangerous child care.

I have 3 sons, and my middle son, who is now 15, has had multiple special needs since birth. We tried using the school system's services for speech therapy in preschool, but they did not give him the help that he needed and deserved. I was told by the director that all kids, whether they have down syndrome or a speech disorder, receive the same services. I knew in that moment that I needed to find private therapy for him, and to homeschool. I've homeschooled all 3 of my kids, and just graduated my oldest. The school did not care about my child, or any of the others. They wanted to slap a label on him that wasn't accurate, put him in a classroom where he wouldn't receive the help he needed, and be done with it.

I have a child with cerebral palsy and I’m a public school teacher. I had to constantly stand up for what he needed and in the process taught him how to advocate for himself. He just finished his first year of law school. As a teacher I look out for my students with special needs and encourage their parents to advocate for them too.

Thank you Patara! Yes, it’s something I have to remind myself of periodically as well. When people show you who they are, believe them!

Those who live in darkness (those cockroaches or three men) do not like the light. Keep speaking the truth and keep us all in the light. The light is the truth!! Always praying for you Patara. You are a truth speaker and I really appreciate you and how the Lord is using you.

God bless you patara. My Sarah was also special needs. Trisomy 13. Lost her October 2, 2022 and I still miss her so much. Looking forward to when I can join her. Thank you for sharing about your child. Our children are so precious and they deserve much more than this world can ever give.

Yep. I had one of those grandma's. I have been jerked up off the church bench when I was small and had my drawers pulled down outside on the church porch and a good whacking on my tail for laughing and playing during church with my cousin. We were six and four by the way, but once you see that 'look' and slight head shake by grandma, you knew to straighten up and behave or get your arse tanned maybe with some 'apple tea' (an apple limb) on the walk home! Lord, you make me miss my grandma. Bless your nana and know that you are SO lucky to still have her. Sending love and light from Hancock County your way down south!

Patara, I don’t comment often but today I felt I needed to! Your channel is one of a few that I watch. You keep it real! Not all but more and more are going to having a patron subscription with a fee! Where before their content was free to watch and to enjoy now they are charging a patron fee to watch their content!! If a person doesn’t like your content they are free to go somewhere else! Please keep doing what you are doing!! You have the number you have due to what you have to say and that you do keep it real!!! We love you and your family! I am so glad your Nana is on the mend! GOD is great!! Blessing to you and your family! Also I do want to say that even though you say you don’t need anything from you viewers please don’t hesitate to let know when you do because we will come to you a running!! You and your family are our family to us and that is what families do!!! Love y’all!!
