It’s because of you guys that we have decided to drive as yous make it looks so easy, as much as I don’t mind flying 2 of us are disabled and it’s all the hassle at the airport wheelchair assistance, the lift to get on the aircraft it all makes me too flustered and embarrassed I know I should never be embarrassed about my disability but some people cannot be nice, after watching you guys it seems very straight forward thanks for this updated video I will double check everything before we go but by yous telling us we’re to start and and what to be checking for is brilliant thanks xx

Great video. Just a note on the VE103, you need this if you drive a company car. Make sure you request it with plenty of time as some of the lease companies can take a while to process the request.

Hi Helena & Martyn, fantastic video thank you! Watching as first time driving over this Saturday morning (spontaneous booking last night!) We usually fly/or eurostar. Can I please ask which roads you prefer/normally take from Calais to DLP? Can't tell from Satnav which roads best!

Thanks for doing this! I've got an emovis tag as I drive on my own & it means I'm not having to lean over or getting out of the car to get a ticket/pay. Eurotunnel were doing an offer when I got it last year so may be worth checking to see if they have offers if people want one and have eurotunnel booked.

Thank you for the recommendation about the Eurotunnel possibly doing an offer. We'll have to have a look into it. With regards to driving on your own and the barrier staying up, I'm not entirely sure. I can only imagine that they have thought of that when creating it. But then again, I can't say for definite. With the UK sticker, is this just if your reg doesn't state UK?

Hiya, thanks so much for the comment. I found this when doing some research. Hope it helps a little. “if your number plate has the new UK identifier with the Union Jack then you are not required to have a full size UK sticker on your vehicle for France but you are for Spain etc so our advice is to be safe just get one anyway.”

We stop at Aire des Cœur des Hauts-de-France Est, A. du N, 80200 Assevillers. It’s pretty much half way between Calais and DLP. It also has a Paul, which is a really nice bakery chain with good coffee and pastries.

The one we stopped at during our first vlog was nice, it had a McDonalds but it didn't open till later on. x
