I'm a 4 year nursing and midwifery student in Australia. About to go on my last mid placement :) I got a littmann stethoscope for my 21st birthday too! I use it for all sorts of things on nursing placement and mostly for blood pressures and listening to newborn's hearts on mid placement.. can't imagine placement without it to be honest! I think my whole cohort has those plastic folders for their placement books now, must be a student midwife thing haha. I find out where my graduate year will be in October, am so keen to be qualified!

This was really helpful and interesting. It's nice to know that we won't need loads of stuff, especially at first when money might be a bit tight and we are not sure where to invest it. Thanks Lucy. Xx

i’m just about to go into my 3rd year of midwifery, the part about your unloops made me laugh so much😂i relate so much, my feet after a long day🤢🤮 how did you feel about VEs going into 3rd year, i think i’ve only done like 4 in the last two years and I still feel so unsure on them!x

I felt more confident after each one but it’s still not something I’m 100% with and that’s okay ☺️

Thank you for this! I'm starting uni in September and trying to get prepared. Do you think it's worth having a separate uni bag and placement bag? Also what shoes would you recommend x

Love the video, what placement shoes do you recommend for a student midwife xx

Lots of midwives wear sketchers or crocs. As long and they're comfortable, wipeable and cover your whole foot anything is fine x
@lbelikow4 жыл бұрын
Also can you suggest the better shoe options? :)

Hi, I thoroughly enjoyed this video as it was v informative. I am currently a 1st year biomedical student who wants to transfer to midwifery. In the beginning of the video you mention how you did biomedical science. Therefore, id like to know how did you know you wanted to do midwifery instead of biomed?

Hello Am am 2nd year student midwife and I would really love it if you are able to do a tutorial on the vaginal examination assessment. And I watched some of your past videos where you mentioned doing a placement in Ghana, can you elaborate more on that, the hospital you worked there because am in Ghana.
