My husband took the back seat and the front passenger seat out. Ran his bed along the right side of the truck, so he could stretch out. The space behind the drivers seat is all storage. Works great. Just an idea for you

I'm heavily looking into starting to do RV transport to build myself up to running my own hotshot trucking business. I really appreciate the information you shared in this video. I have a '21 Ram 2500 Cummins as well so knowing I can do well starting with just a bumper pull is really easing to me lol

If you want to maximize your profits, I would have/do the following in no particular order. 1) 1-Ton SRW truck with a diesel. No need to burn through 6 tires when there is minimal benefit in capacity. 2) 150 gallon+ auxiliary tank and bigger if you can fit it. Fuel cost is everything in this business. The rogue guys all have hidden off-road diesel cells in their auxiliary tanks to save another 40-50 cents/gallon. 3) Get a 40' gooseneck trailer to be able to haul multiples. This also allows you to backhaul cars when needed. Car transport with 1-2 cars per load isn't super lucrative on its own, but you will never run empty if you have the trailer for this...ALWAYS cars available for transport just abut anywhere. 4) Get a few 55 gallon barrels and buy DEF in bulk at your local distributor. You can buy bulk DEF for ~$1.85/gallon which is half the price of any truck stop or Wal-Mart 2.5 gallon cans. Rogue guys do a stealth DPF delete. 5) Buy your engine oil in bulk with a barrel at a time. If you are doing 5-10 oil changes/year, this will save another few $$. 6) Get a good relationship with your local used tire shop and have them contact you when they have near new replacement tires available in your size. I get all tier 1 tires and haven't purchased a new set in years. I consistently save $500-$750 a set and sacrifice negligible life span. 7) Get a direct relationship with a few RV dealers and bypass the broker when you can. Brokers average 10-12% in mark-up margin and dealers will gladly split the savings with you. You will never be able to book your entire schedule with direct dealer relationships, but you will also find the dealers calling you to deliver units to the final customer on occasion. You will also get calls from dealers to deliver units to set-up for trade shows and special events. Usually lower miles, but very lucrative runs. 8) Get a 2,000 watt suitcase generator to run a small space heater in the cold weather and a small AC unit in the warmer weather during stops. A small portable AC unit in the bed of your truck with vents through the rear window is a game changer in the summer.

Having the weight distribution hitch is great, but does the mean every pull behind trailer you pick up you have to install the plates on the trailer before each load? Just curious, seems like a lot of work for something that would have constantly be installing and then uninstalling.

Real good video bud. A ton of good information for new guys to help get them started. Yeah my tags run out in January too….. I think here in Tennessee they are $542 best I remember. Hey btw….. Don’t know if you use any kind of a seat cushion in your driver seat or not but I bought one of those Purple brand cushions at Loves and Man that thing is awesome. We had bought one of that same brand mattress for our bed at home and I knew how good it was so I took a chance on it and they take out a lot of impact. Calls about the second or third day on the road my back would be killing me but I’m on my fourth Street day on it and it feels great. Just thought I’d throw that out there to you. Again man I know they’re great video be safe bud

@@mr.tennessee The smaller one was like $54 and that’s the one I bought the larger one is 99 but I think it will be too big for a regular pick up truck seat. They come with a real good I guess you would call it a pillowcase that zips up and it has a nonskid bottom on it and it lays right where you put it it don’t slide around when you get in or out of the truck. It did make me feel like I was setting up too high when I first got it but after adjusting on my seat a little bit and drove it for a couple hours I got used to it and now I’m glad I bought it

I’ve done this, it’s not worth it and really hard to make any money. You’re always deadheading back to Indiana for the next load. If you’re not under load you’re losing money in fuel. Wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the empty runs back. Also, the Keep Trucking app had a lock out feature that prevents DOT from accessing your phone content / exiting the App without your password. I drove for IT as well by the way, they’re a great company to drive for I personally just could not seem to make more than about 700-900 a week profit. Not worth it time you buy tires and do maintenance out of it.

Good video man very informative just subscribed to the channel. I do have a couple questions if you get time to respond back. 1) do you pull any of the cdl loads and if you do what size truck would you say would be the most beneficial for holding that bigger weight? And 2) I haven’t seen a video yet about it but do you dead head back to Indiana to get another load or do you get a load from the reload board? Thanks
@mr.tennessee

I do haul the big loads. And I have no problem doing it. I can’t really say what would be better because I never had a dually. But no problems with the 2500. And I have pulled quite a few CDL loads. Thank you for subscribing and watching the video. I dead head back. We do have a back hall board that you can get on and look. I haven’t got one yet

Thanks for getting back to me I appreciate it, I just got my cdl and have been looking at different routes of using it. I was not sure if you might need a dually or at least a 3500 to pull the cdl loads or if a 2500 would pull them according to what there standards are for tow capacity with how heavy the loads maybe. I appreciate it though I am looking at contacting some companies soon.
