Using lyrics to prove guilt is soooooo unconstitutional. Imagine all the 90’s rappers and what they wrote

It’s depends if the lyrics link him to the crime. 90s rappers used to rap about hypothetical situations. These drill rappers rap about catching bodies irl big difference. A lot of these rappers end up shooting each other because they dissed a dead homie in a track. I really don’t feel sorry for rappers.

Facts! Rapping can be direct, or words can be used as a metaphor... Lyrics could have so many different meanings depending on the one who writes them. Playing that in court is so so dumb. I could literally rap about catching a 1000 bodies in a day. Lol. That could mean so much, so many different things. as dumb as it sounds.

The state got plea deals by color of law EXTORTION. Withholding bond for people who aren't legally literate and can't afford the many millions of dollars this trial is going to cost is a CLEAR VIOLATION of law and the right to bond. This abuse of power was enforced by ural, the same judge overruling legitimate defense objections. The state cried no bond because these people are dangers to society. 🤔😌Yet , turned around and gave them plea deals as state's witnesses to immediately release these people to the community 🤔🗂️

Exactly. Plus if they knew for all these years what was going on , why now ??? The only reason they want to prosecute Jeffery is bc he have money and can possible change the destruction of black communities. They do not want to see black ppl succeed. I don’t care what they did especially if they been doing it and no one did anything about it until one became a millionaire . They know whose in gangs . They knew gang signs but what have need done about it ? This is not the answer . Truthfully the police is the biggest gang in America . They also have the government that stands behind them . @REALmills 7 ай бұрын
It's not difficult to understand. If you committed an actual crime, dont rap about it, and it can't be used in court against you. If you didn't commit a crime, you're fine to rap about a crime. It can't be used against you if it didn't actually happen. Rapping about crimes that actually happened is a good way to make people think you did it, especially if there is other evidence pointing towards you commiting it. The justice system is not going after people for "lyrics". It is going after people who allegedly committed actual crimes and then admitted to them on songs. Tupac didn't kill Biggie, this is why "hit em up" would never have been used in court, then or today.
@REALmills
@REALmills 7 ай бұрын
Also, this guys ending statement is goofy AF. Young Thug's case is different because he rapped about crimes that actually happened, not because of how big of an artist he is, or because people don't like the type of music he makes. This is propaganda. It's not because he is black, is a rapper, or any other issue people want to make it about. It seems like Thug was actually breaking laws and then rapping about it, which is a spit in the face of the justice system if this is proven true. Society cannot allow this to happen without consequences. It's unfortunate he had a rough life before music, but it doesn't seem like he wanted to fully walk away from that life, and it doesn't give him a pass to commit felonies without consequence.

Only when they actually commit the crimes they rap about they get in trouble. Like Bobby shmurder. Same thing, straight up spoke on a murder in a song and that got him locked up. A million other studio gangsters rap about stuff they don’t actually do and they’re completely fine. So just don’t actually commit the crime and you’re good.

Exactly, People on that jury need to understand that just because a person raps they did something doesn’t automatically mean they literally did that. Rap is about the fantasy for the most part. You could be broke and have no car but in your raps you are pushin phantoms and bentleys and maybachs. You coupd have never sold or touched drugs a day in your life but in your rapping be a drug kingpin. Most these guys are rapping about a fantasy of them or the real life of their friend or relative and actually never lived the life they rapped about. If they are gonna convict it should be on the basis or hardcore evidence like dna or what u see a person doing on camera. Convicting someone off a rap and nothing else would be like convicting an actor for murder cause they played a murderer in a movie. Young thug’s lawyer better make sure he has a jury that fully well understands this. I had to think back myself. Im older and much more mature now but when i was in my teens and 20s I wrote a lotta freestyle raps and what not and if they was using that against me based off the stuff i said I was doing in my raps they would have enough to lock me away for life. But that was a fantasy, I wasnt doing that stuff in real life I was rappin about.

You can have a First Amendment right we are a society that expects people to speak a bit correctly and thoughtfully and not saying that we're going to go kill people do drugs and do nasty things no those are not the things you're allowed to talk about you don't do that in songs that is not good for children that is not art it's disgusting a lot of these rappers should have been on trial a long time ago what they say is sometimes really really bad

I think rappers at times make music that has a criminal aspect that could be used against them. Most rappers are affiliated with a gang or behave as one, that is the reason many are dead today. My question is why put those kinds of lyrics in music? It is not art to speak or rap about killing or having killed someone. It is not a good idea to put that information into a song. Murder and drug dealings are still illegal... It depends on how the music is geared, the state chooses a good song to bring to trial. The defense will have a difficult time as the majority of the indicted people have been given plea deals, and explaining lyrics to a song or songs presented into the court for evidence. The state charging 20+ people is difficult but it seems the process is coming along. I don't know enough about this case but I have major issues with the narrative of this case. I am becoming more and more disappointed in my own people. However, they have a job to do and maybe there is black people that listen to their news ideas.
