Thanks for this very instructive video. I have to say that it is taking me forever to get clients. I got NASM certified this August. I tried to get employed in gyms near me without any luck. I thought being a competitive powerlifter would overcome the fact that I am 54 years old. Guess I was wrong. Even if 90% of clients are middle age women, those gym prefer to hire young people. Some aren't even certified. Thanks for reminding me to be patient, I am afraid that according to the present pace it will take me more than a year to be booked. Who knows January is coming soon, let's hope for the best.

I think it really all depends on what type of location you’re in. In my studio we have 6 trainers and the one who does the most training is a 58 year old female. I’d consider finding a studio environment, or at the very least, a different gym. Also, like others said starting your own business can be the best option depending on a few factors

Here's what I've co.e to the conclusion of since I've started my PT journey. Keep one maybe two in person clients. Keep the rest of your business online offering free basic content and charge for more detailed content. Become an affiliate to companies that sell health products and create social media platforms where you push those products and earn commission. Passive income+the income from the in person training. Once the passive income grows, you can decide whether to keep clients or not. Eventually, you transition from being a personal trainer to ab affiliate marketer. Less work, more money.

I’m going in five years trying to be independent. I’ve decided that coaching part time while maintaining a normal 9-5 is much better way to train people long term, avoid burnout, and make enough money to actually put food in the table as opposed to trying to do this full time. PT is a luxury service, not a necessity.

I work at lifetime fitness and I will say that for my gym you can find plenty of people to work with within that 9-5 time period

I’m glad that you’re able to get enough clients during those hours! They’re there-it’s just not generally as busy as some “prime times.”
