We have put together this video covering some of the questions that we have been asked about our recent Ambassador cruise. We sailed onboard in April 2023 nearly a year after Ambience was launched. We hope this video helps you make the most of your Ambassador cruise.

Ambassador is Britains newest cruise line and we took the opportunity to sail with them in April 2023.Ambassador market themselves as Britain’s premium value no-fly cruise line who sail from 8 regional UK ports. Ambassador Ambience sailed around the British Isles and we were onboard for 11 nights. Ambassador Cruise Line currently has two ships in operation Ambience and Ambition.
We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021. We are relatively new to cruising, however we can now say we are officially hooked.
Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels. We look at the types of food that is available onboard, from main dining rooms, room service, buffets and pool side snacks. We include menus for each of cruises so that we can share the selection of drinks and meals that are available. Entertainment onboard a cruise ship is important to us and we enjoy theatre production shows, live music, quizzes and game shows. We love to explore different ports and destinations and enjoy sharing tips and tricks so that you can make the most of each port. We often explore ports independently but also book excursions that are interesting to us.
We have created a list of our cruise essentials. These are items we take with us when we travel and we hope they may be useful to you. We have also added a Wine list which contains some of the wines we have tried whilst cruising.

Very informative video. We are seriously considering Ambassador for our next cruise due to local ports. One question I have is, in the main dining room, are there tables for 2 available. Whilst being quite sociable people, we do not like to be seated with other people at mealtimes. This is always a consideration for us when choosing a cruise.

Thanks for your question! There are tables for 2 in the main dining and these are allocated on a first come first service basis! Passengers asked the head waiter on embarkation day to allocate them a table for 2, if there was one available they could have it! 😀 it’s definitely pot luck but it is possible 😀

Thanks for the video, Regarding dining if you are not using the allocated time and eat somewhare else like Borough Market do we have to cancel our dining slot or can do as we please on the night? Thank You

The table is allocated for the cruise. You can use it or not each night. Although if you are on a shared table we recommend letting someone know so the table aren’t waiting for you to arrive before ordering

Thanks guys, can i ask for more info on the smoking areas please? Are they standing areas only or are they seated? Can you relax in a smokong area? Also where on deck are they? Id like my cabin fairly near one on deck 7 and not have to walk the full length of the ship for a smoke first thing in the morning. Are there facilities close by the one on the lido deck? Somewhere to get a coffee? Thanks

Hi thanks for your question! 😀 Up on deck 12 there is an area sectioned off with comfortable seating, tables etc. it’s as comfortable as all the other public seating areas 😀 On the Promenade deck the smoking area is through the after doors by the Buckingham restaurant! Best bet would be a cabin on deck 6 mid/aft as this would give you quick access. The coffee shop is located next to the Lido smoking area! Hope this helps 😀

Does Ambassador have any speciality restaurants (in addition to the buffet and the main restaurant) If so, are they any good and was there a large surcharge? Was there a good choice of shore excursions and how well priced were they? What would you say the general age demographic on these ships are? Thank you so much!

Thanks for your question! Ambience has 2 main specialities. Saffron an Indian inspired restaurant and Sea and Grass a fine dining experience! We found them to be very reasonable and Saffron was outstanding! In Mondays video we review Sea and Grass! Shore excursions were plentiful and again really reasonable in comparison to other cruise lines! The demographic on our cruise was predominately over 50! But there was a huge range of ages onboard! I have not heard anyone say if there is bingo on these ships. Also I would like to know if anyone played Bridge in the card room and if there are puzzles and games for people to use?

Hi Carol thanks for your question! The card room Aces and Eights, was very popular with passengers, the bridge tournaments were not hosted and passengers ran and organised their own events! There were no hosted board games but passengers were again invited to organise there own events and bring there own games. There is a large notice board in Aces and Eights to advertise events. Bingo is available in the Purple Turtle on most evenings at 5pm! Hope this helps 😀

Thanks for the insights into Ambassador. I'm booked onto a weekend cruise to Antwerp in December, I'm only really going as I want to explore this Belgian city, and I'm not bothered about the ship, it seems very stuffy and old fashioned to me (I've just returned from my third Virgin voyage so I'm not really Ambassador's target audience). But hopefully it will be a good weekend nonetheless

Morning, my question is that I have a smart phone, I don't wish to use the wifi package but can I use my phone with its 5g, if so do I need to get anything in advance, I am going in 2 weeks.

5g will not be available at sea but will be in ports from there you will need to check with your provider what they charge

So am I right in thinking there is no off line facility for passenger to find info or make bookings while on board? We haven’t paid for Wi-Fi for our cruise next weekend. Looking forward to it whatever😊

You can book shore excursions whilst off the ship. You don’t need any internet package to use the ambassador page whilst on the ship. If you don’t have a phone there are touch screens

Travel agent when booking said it was ok to take my mobility scooter ,it dosent fold down ,but it dismanties into 3 pieces ,the base 1m long ,the seat ,,and the battery, can't get advice from ambassador as booked drought agent ,I'm worried of turning up at dock side ,and not allowed to take it on board ,travelling on ambition from Dundee

Hi thanks for your question. Ambassador state that you can bring small mobility device but it must not weigh more than 45kgs in total and must not exceed 75cm in width.
