Thanks for the great video. However, the diameter of cable stay varies from 457mm (18in) to 660mm (30in). My team did the shop drawings for Canam. 10 feet makes no sense. I could give you the size of every steel pieces of this bridge.

10-15,000 vehicles per day seems like pretty light traffic for such a huge bridge....By comparison, the now destroyed Francis Scott Key Bridge here in Baltimore handled roughly 30,000 vehicles per day quite easily with its mere two lanes in each direction. Seems like a lot of bridge for half the traffic volume. But I suppose the upside is it will be a long, long time until there will be any congestion related traffic jams....

Hi leeriffee. Windsor has a population of around 229,000 people. Car traffic from windsor to detroit will likely use the Ambassador Bridge or the windsor/detroit tunnel as they exit into the two cities, where the Gordie Howe connects directly to the 401 highway in Canada and the interstate highways in detroit. Right now the Ambassador is more often than not backed up with trucks. The new bridge will fix that and leave room to grow as you mentioned. Good post. Thanks for sharing. 😎👍

Hi Durhamresident. I think they have good reason there. There is restricted airspace a drone pilot needs approval to fly in. Most of Windsor is in restricted airspace. If you have an advanced certificate you can get approval from Transport Canada if you register the flight. We can't enter another countries airspace
