I’ve got tickets for Gutenberg, Merrily We Roll Along & The Great Gatsby at the Papermill. Really interested in How to Dance in Ohio & Harmony. I also keep trying for lottery tickets to Purlie Victorious but no luck so far. Another show I’m excited about is Days of Wine & Roses.

So curious about Days of Wine! Heard mixed things about the off-bway, but feel like with Kelli O'Hara and Brian D'Arcy you literally can't go wrong. And hooray! Thrilled you've got your Gatsby tix. Can't wait to hear what people think. Also keep trying for Purlie--it's so, so worth it!!!

I saw Merrily We Roll Along on 11/4/23 and it was one of the best revivals I've ever seen. It was my first Broadway show (and for you Harry Potter fans out there, I met Daniel Radcliffe at stage door)

Going to see “The Wiz” in Baltimore this weekend. I read it received five standing ovations and is getting rave reviews from the audience.

Wow! What a show! The music was phenomenal all around. My favorites were Nichelle Lewis as Dorothy and Melody Betts as Aunt Em/Evilene, respectively. They brought the house down! I have some issues with the revised book, especially half way through the second act and finally, but it never felt like it dragged. It was undated yet never felt newly dated if you know what I mean. The costumes were studding to questionable (what was the Lion wearing and the Yellow Brick Road didn’t quite look yellow.) Addaperle’s role was trimmed down and her song “He’s The Wiz” is giving to Glinda instead, making her first appearance when Dorothy arrives in Oz. It almost felt like there was no need for her being on stage. I was happy that both “You Can’t Win” and “I Was Born On The Day Before Yesterday” are both here, the latter being an abridged version sung by the group. I only wish the original “Tornado” number was used and had been more of a showstopper than a rushed plot point. The sets were colorful and inventive at times. My final feelings was a happy vibe and I can see this being a huge hit on Broadway.

I, too, am looking for more diversity on Broadway. TBH it’s starting to become a whole driving force of mine, actually 😅 weirdly, I haven’t seen most of these yet but am planning on seeing almost all of them! I’ll report back 🤗
