It is no good comparing her to Laura from this performance. Laura obviously had so much more preparation and rehearsals, they had to learn this in about an hour so you cannot compare this to Laura. Also she was given the wrong hat (kinda distracting when a hat is falling over your eyes and you are trying to sing and do a full out dance routine) she did an amazing job!!

She was very good but she wasn't phenomenal. She didn't seem vocally strong, and she was so tired by the end of it, there's no way she could hold up 8 shows a week without destroying her voice, which is heartbreaking considering the potential there.

I cringe every time someone compares her to Laura. Yes, she's no Laura. She is BAILEY. She is her own version of Elle Woods. People need to stop expecting Bailey to be exactly LBB's version of Elle Woods. An actor does not imitate another, they CREATE their own version of that character. Of course, the Elle Woods vibe has to be there, but it doesnt have to be EXACTLY the same as the original. Laura had a big and long preparation for this, Bailey, not so much. You cannot expect a 100% Elle Woods from Bailey when she's only learned that in a short period of time. That's why audition processes take really long, they work with the actors and help them develop character.

Daniella Delfin agreed! Honestly, I've watched both versions (with Laura and with Bailey), and I prefer Bailey. It all comes down to the fact that they have different styles and people freak over that. I enjoy Bailey's flighty-ness and little mannerisms that come out while she performs. I think she suits Elle very well. Laura seemed too mature and serious, just for my taste.

People seem to be making the excuse that she's new to Broadway but just cause she was new to Broadway isn't an excuse cause to be on Broadway u do need experience with live singing and dancing on stage and she doesn't seem to have that. Laura Osnes who was on the Grease reality show that aired around this time as well also had no Broadway experience but she did great and is still going strong on Broadway and Bailey is back in her home town.

she is using what’s usually referred to as a “mixy belt” so technically, she is belting but it’s not entirely in her chest. she pulls from both the chest and head, “mixes” them and projects it to create it.

Not to mention she had a hat that kept falling and they barley had time to learn the songs. And she also was very polite to the costume person. Guys remember, Laura Bell Bundy has been doing broadway and off-broadway shows since she was 12, Bailey is from a small town and doesn't have any experience, cut her some slack. When she one the competition, she worked on hiding her accent and her stamina. If you watch the other girls in this competition doing this number, they are just as winded as she is. Laura Bell did it when her shoe went flying into the audience during So Much Better, she threw the other one off stage with sass as to not distract/disrupt her performance.
