Very helpful. I have that yellowish ring and blue/green eyes. But no brown. My mother had very hazel eyes and my dad medium dark brown. The color shifts esp when I wear olive or gray green. Really strange. Almost a perfect match at a distance. I would like to figure out what color will pull out the blue to more aqua. I see it sometimes but it is a bit muddy unlike the olive. You have given me lots of insights and tips. I never really realized that some people do not have a dark ring around the outer iris. Thank you so much.

I kinda hate how she says muddy, ashy, dusty, and dull when describing softer tones. And the way she says it emphasizes like "disgust" (sort of? idk what word I'm looking for). dekhimera my boyfriend has those! And has described it that way too lol! They don't do that honey pool thing in the sun and look better with indirect sunlight. They give me organic vibes like tree bark or wet soil with a lot of clay, it's very rejuvenating and comforting to look at, I'm sure yours look just as wonderful too, it's just about how the viewer frames it(:

My 6 year old granddaughter has almost violet eyes. Her eyelashes are thick black and so long that they look like false eyelashes. People always comment on how beautiful her eyes are. She has long curly hair with dark eyebrows and beautiful fair skin. She is petite and just a natural beauty. She has Scottish, Swedish, German , and Polish ancestry. Quite the mix. Her Dad has blue eyes and my daughter and I have green. I am half Polish and the other half is English. The blue is probably from her Dad along with the eyelashes!

I like all eye colors. I find it surprising that such a small amount of people have green eyes, because in my family almost everyone has them(even my cousins). I like the evolution of my eyes, when i was a child i had crystal blue eyes. In my teenage years they had become bright green. Now they're becoming more yellowish. So im now somewhere in beetween green and yellow. It depends on the weather. Sometimes they're green, sometimes yellow, and in winter they even become hazel. I just find eyes in general really fascinating. It doesn't matter if they are blue or brown. Every color has something beautiful. Blue/grey looks mytserious. Black/Brown looks charming and makes a person look nicer...Great video :)

I was born with blue/grey eyes and I had them till I was 8 or so. They then turned to a really bright mossy/ emerald green. They look gold in the golden hour or sunset. I have brown/ gold sectoral heterochromia in my right eye though.

Her hair was just black, her skin kinda pale with freckles over her bridge and cheeks and then POW very bright and saturated green eyes with the most yellow color I've ever seen in the center. In case someone is wondering about the official terms about color, I got you! The terms are hue, value, and saturation. HUE = (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, ...) Basically, WHICH color is it? SATURATION = The lower the saturation, the more grey a color is. The higher the saturation, the more 'intense' the color is. VALUE = How light is a color? The lower the value, the darker the color.

Thank you so much, this explains something! After I watched this video, I ran around the house comparing the brown eyes of my siblings and I. When they looked at my eyes, they said there was a greyish haze over them, despite the colour - the HUE - being the same as my sister. Now I realize that we have the same hue and value but I have lower saturation.

I used to hate my pointy nose. I imagined how it would be so simple for a plastic surgeon to take the tip off. Now I am in my 50's and my nose is my favorite part of my face! My eyes look smaller and closer together. My lips have become thin and lined. My skin is wrinkling faster than my darker friends because I am fair (I don't smoke) and fair skin ages poorly. The environmental light affects the color also. I have brown eyes, and when I'm in an indoors environment they generally look pretty dark...almost black. But if I go outside in the sunlight, they look more reddish ("chestnut" colored I've been told.) I can notice that myself if I stand in front of a mirror under a bright light or shine a light directly into my eyes

My eyes are amber with a dark outer circle. I used to find them dull, always wanted the “deep chocolate” eyes everyone emphasized as beautiful for being brown. But, what I now find fun is my eyes change depending on my hair color. When I go more red-brown my eyes match, they go very red-amber. When my hair is more neutral brown, or with any kind of blond in it, my eyes go very yellow-amber. Lighting doesn’t matter. What i wear doesn’t matter. It’s 100% linked to my hair. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Kinda fun.

I have brown eyes that are not dark, but not light either. They have a grayish, muddy look, with a darker grayish brown ring around them. I can't wear bronze or golds, or most browns. They make me look horrible. They look better with softer tones of gray, purple and blue. People used to try to tell me that I was either a Winter or Autumn, because of my darker brown hair and brown eyes. Turns out I am a Summer.

I took a few pictures of my eyes-one Inside in bright light and one outside. My eyes are medium brown but can look a bit lighter depending on the light. I started playing around with editing them, and when I lessened the contrast, the photo of my eye taken outside had a lot of olive green in it. I was surprised. My father had light blue eyes and my mother dark brown eyes, and according to genetic testing, I had a 70% chance of having green or hazel eyes. So perhaps in the light my eyes do look a bit green, and I just didn’t realize it. Interesting experiment.

My brother is dating an albino girl and if you ever get a chance, their eyes are incredible in person. From a distance it looks like a rich purple (not blue-violet I'm talking rich glassy purple) but if you get closer you see its both blue and red at the same time. Its like how in pixel art if you put a bunch of blue and red pixels dithered together it looks purple from afar but up close u get the individual colours. Plus sometimes the light will catch her eyes and it'll glow red sorta. She's very beautiful. And if you ever get a chance, albino children in particular are the cutest damn thing you will EVER see. Little fluffy white heads of hair and these big purple eyes. Not to mention their lashes look like they're dusted in frost. Pictures don't even come close to giving their eyes justice. Plus their hair in the sunlight gleams rainbow like an oil slick if you look very close. (Before anyone comes in with the 'oh sure you know an albino i bet everyone clapped too', I went to a school for the legally blind. Albinism almost always causes vision issues in the person who has it. I myself have albinism but it's only in my eyes (also known as ocular albinism) so they're blue but my hair still has pigment (plenty too it's brown) and my skin is pale af but not as pale as my brothers gf. One of the teachers at that school was even albino. Basically, albinos aren't that rare if you go somewhere it makes sense for there to be a higher number. Namely a school for kids with serious vision issues.)

For instance in my country and state there's a place where the inhabitants are prone to get a albino child, but it's really hard to them because the light and sun is very predominant in there. Look it up for albinos from ilha dos Lençóis.

Hey Aly. My eyes are a very dark blue grey. Any time I wear purple or blueish purple colors, people tell me they look violet. This has happened since I was a baby and I have childhood photos were my eyes look like this even though I’ve never seen it in a mirror. They can look drastically different in different lighting and with different colors. Interestingly enough, I also have dark brown/black hair and fair skin like Elizabeth Taylor but I wouldn’t say I resembled her. Just maybe that the overall coloring has something to do with it.

My grandfather, descendem of West Prussians had violet eyes, the most amazing eyes I’ve ever seen in my Life. From far it seems he had dark eyes. Closer you could see how deep was the blue in his eyes, with a touch of violet. i have so many "mixed" colours in me: my hair contains a range of colours going from really light blonde to dark red so it kinda looks a bit golden overall, and my eyes are somewhere in-between blue and green. but when i was a kid my hair was so light blonde it looked white (it was also super curly, like corkscrews but now it's only slightly wavy) and my eyes were really light blue hhhhhh it's really weird. i'm only 17 right now so i'm kinda scared (but also excited) to see if they will continue to change or if i'll stay like this. i wish i could've kept the curly hair though, it was cool

I met a girl in school with some violet in her eyes. They were green kinda blue, very similar to elizabeth taylor ones but there were also some yellow. I believe that's why they can look a bit purple, but the color was there and very clear to see. I guess she was just lucky 😂

I'm a guy. I have the exact same grey color as your husband. I don't think they look dull in the examples you showed...I think they look rich. If I'm in bright light, they tend to look a flat silver and then they do look dull to me. Certain clothes colors really accentuate, or draw out, certain colors. Maroon and black makes them look like a battleship grey. Green, aqua, brighter blues brings out a teal tone. Red brings out green and yellow. If I've ever had a cold or allergies where my eyes get irritated, they can look turquoise, like the mineral. I think it's a very interesting eye color.

I have hazel eyes but the green is more of a moss green, green with yellow, with a dark black ring around the eyes and I definitely see the greyness in there. That's true, I have a twin brother and when we were kids we both had identical, light blue eyes. Nowadays my eyes are still blue (but a bit darker comparing to those) and his are definitely greenish. Your eyes can change color over time depending on your diet. There’s a reason that healthier people have brighter eye colors than people that eat only junk food. On a normal day, I have a partial limbal ring but after a week of fasting, I have complete limbal rings that are much more pronounced. You can look up eye color cleansing subliminals on KZbin, check out the scientific basis of it, and see people’s documentation over time of their own color changes. My sister and I have both used them short term (like a month) and seen minor differences. My sister’s dark brown eyes lightened to a brown that was closer to green than black (she almost had “Asian eyes” before). My eyes were a light silver-blue and turned into a darker, more intense blue while I was listening and choosing headlight food options. I always thought it would be cool to have violet eyes so if you are interested in trying to get them back, you might be interested in trying subliminal videos before going to sleep. (Always check the affirmations before choosing the subliminal!)

Thank you. I have been trying to find out what hazel means for over fourteen years. This is the first time the definition makes sense. I have a hazel blue color. So like a blue on the outside and yellow/amber on the inner part. The amber and blue combine in the middle and make a bit of blue. When I was born, my eyes were dark blue almost violet. Age 1 they turned hazel brown/green. As I grew up my hazel eyes would change with the season. I would say that my eyes have a green outer, orange middle and brown centre. I have a black ring around them. My mum had green eyes and my dad had milk chocolate coloured eyes. Sometimes my eyes look orange, occasionally green and sometimes brown. My son was born with blue, deep blue eyes but they changed to green when he was about 5 years old. @@sweettagada22 the scary part is two blue parents having anything but a blue eyed child, even in Biol 101 in college that’s unexplained But whatever ur color is is beautiful. All colors are.

@@YeshuaKingMessiah it happens, it’s like 5% of chances. There are at least 16 genes involved in eye color. What you learn at school is too simplified

my eyes are blue-green and very dark and opaque. They have become greener as I have gotten older. a friend once described them as "creamy grey forest green" which is silly but kind of accurate I guess haha
