The funny thing about the carp. In Europe, especilally Eastern, carp fishers are the top of the elite. Their gear is most expensive, their fishing session costs more then your season does. Catching a trophy carp is the biggest challenge of all cause they are so rare and sophisticated. I could tell you way too more but you're not going to believe my words unless you see it by yourself.

The difficulty in catching large carp in Europe comes from the insane pressure they get put under. I wouldn't call them particularly rare considering you guys sometimes even name the big fish in a particular pond and that same fish has been caught by a dozen or more people before you. Getting THAT fish to bite again is where the challenge is.

As a fly fisherman who loves rainbows and browns. I fish tiny streams with 5 foot rods where a 12 inch fish is a an absolute monster, and I can confirm that this is true. Also, cutthroat, golden, and brookie are all absolute treats to catch!

Not in Northern Europe at least. For brown trout there's lazy bastards who snuck out in middle of the night to catch them while they spawn with miniature nets and fill in their freezers, then go to boast in next shady beer joint and acting like a lord from middle ages. Also Char guys like myself walk tens of kilometers into the fells, stay out for weeks and catch absolutely nothing, then we return to the civilization only when we absolutely have to, like go to work after boss has been calling for 20 times and told you that you're fired if you don't appear in next hour. Only to escape into the wilds with nothing but tent, fishing pole and knife the first opportunity, oh and we look like stereotype wandering hermit from any videogame :D

Only problem i have is with rainbows. You can also be the dude with a stringer at a public park who got there super early with a chair, cooler, case of beer, jerky and your favorite spot is comfortably far from where they are planted so it takes 8 hours to limit. You probably also say its a good day whenever you arent dealing with your wife and/or kids

As a Great Lakes scuba diver who encounters lots of fishermen in passing. The group that’s hands down the strangest (and most persistent with questions) are walleye fishermen. No other fish has more BS fud lore or a devoted following than walleye. Which is weird because legit here they are everywhere and plentiful. Seemingly anything a devoted walleye fisherman says appears to be flat out wrong by people who interact with walleye under the water

Haha great vid! I primarily fish for largemouth and smallmouth as I fish local club tournaments and absolutely enjoy the camaraderie amongst other anglers. But for an absolute reset I wet wade rivers and streams for browns and rainbows. Currently trying to catch every species I can here in NH. Landed my first Redfin Pickerel this past weekend! That said, I prefer Rivers and Streams over Ponds/Lakes, so I mostly end up catching Fallfish and Smallmouth Bass this time of year. Looking forward to trout next spring!

I just go to a river or pond, sit out in the blazing sun since there’s no trees around for some reason for 40 minutes without anything happening and then be happy for the 1 or 2 fish I get regardless of what it is because of how long I’ve waited and I’m just happy to get anything at that point.

Me, a pike fisherman, am pleased. Though I tend to prefer spinnerbaits, topwaters, and crankbaits. The blowups on topwater are incredible compared to bass fishing. Nothing quite like a huge gator hitting a spook during the late spring/early fall periods.

Either the big bass or pike love it or they don’t bother even striking so I usually use it in small doses to see if the time is right. When it is though it’s easily the most fun you can have fishing!

Shellcracker are what put a smile on my face these days. They are so elusive and hard to fool that I actually get surprised when I catch one. It's always so cool to me pulling one up and seeing the red marking behind their gill flap. I'm not a fan of using worms or live bait so I only use small soft plastic jigs on a micro drop shot.

As a bass, crappie and catfisherman, there’s nothing like fishing for a variety of species. Nothing like putting a hotdog or pepperoni on a hook and casting it into the darkness of night to see whatever the heck eats it. Catfish offer nice fight, bass are fun, crappie are fun and tasty, haven’t caught a pickerel yet. I want to travel north and give trout and pike fishing a try.

I must be a renegade since I love catching brown trout on big jerkbaits and not flies🤔. Still a pretty funny video. I think trout fisherman as a whole either generally fall under I love fly fishing or I’m hungry give me fish to eat. (I’m that fly fishing guy) Good stuff!

I’m a jack of multiple species. I go out there throw a catfish pole in and carp pole then try and for a bass if I get no bites imma go terrorize the bluegill lol
