I would really appreciate a video on what your first grader should know by the end of the year. I have purchased and used all of your materials with my five year old twins. It would be amazing if you could create material for First and Second Grades. You have been a tremendous help to me in my journey to educate my children at home. God bless you and your family!

For confirmation, I can tell you Jady’s books, (some I printed in pdf on tpt) and tips work. I followed her instructions to the T! I taught both of my children to read using Jady’s videos and books! My daughter who is 5 started kindergarten knowing how to read! Jady instilled in me confidence and determination when I just doubted myself. I am so thankful for your channel Jady!

I'm so glad it is working for you. Would you mind sharing your process with me? I know you said you followed Jady's instructions but, despite watching her videos, I'm a little unclear on her recommended order of things to teach and I have a kindergartner I'm just starting with. Is this the correct order for the basics: Letter sounds> letter names> lowercase letters>uppercase letters> alphabet order? If so, did you make a special introduction to the names of the alphabet letters (as opposed to the sounds) or did you just sort of slip them in? Same with uppercase letters after they have learned lowercase only. I'm a little confused on how to do that part mostly.

JADY! You’re the best!! This is a wonderful video…so helpful and timely for our family. We have done your flashcard method for learning the letter sounds for awhile. Now, we are LOVING using your Elemental Phonics with my 5 and 3 year olds. Both of my children are reading sentences now 🤯 I am going to be recommending these to everyone! I can’t wait to order your other books, too!!! Sweet story, my husband and 3 year old went to get gas yesterday and when my husband got back in the car, my 3 year old pointed to a sign and said, “Gas! It says g-a-s, GAS!” My husband was soo proud of him and all he has learned from your resources and guidance. Thank you thank you! 💛

This is excellent. I’m homeschooling a 5 year old. We are in the process of moving, so I decided that was best. My 17 month old knows the “a” sound. It’s so hilarious. I never knew simple exposure to letter sounds is easier to catch on and learn than you think. She simply tries to mimic her older brother and is catching on as well. You should just create a bundle so we can just order all of it😅

I used the good and the beautiful for my 4 year old this year, next preschooler I'll try jady's approach . My son did not love the slow approach of daily course work , takes forever to get through the entire alphabet I have to add in flash cards and extra work but then the course days are long for a 4 year old. I like jadys basic simple approach

wow this was so helpful, Jady, thank you. Do you recommend actually doing the teaching in this specific order: Letter sounds> letter names> lowercase letters>uppercase letters> alphabet order>basic sentences>sight words? Would love some advice on how to transition them to the uppercase version of letters once they have learned all the short sounds. Do you just kinda slip them in? lol Do you make a formal introduction? Same with learning letter names rather than sounds. I just feel like its unfair of us to expect them to learn them as one name (the short sounds) and then teach them they are called something else. Does that sound weird? Love your books and have them all!

Jady, thank you for this video! My 5 and 3 year old daughters are learning how to read using Elemental Phonics. I saw that you had said you’re using Horizons in another recent video and ordered it. Are you not using it anymore? Is that the program that your daughter didn’t like? I’m asking, because I have spent money on several curriculum options lately for a variety of subjects that haven’t worked out and I don’t want to waste any more money. I did just order your kindergarten literary book and I’m excited to try that! 😊

I don’t feel this is age specific or necessarily age appropriate for 4 year olds. Many kids will not read this well by 4.
@kara39302 ай бұрын
All 5 of Jady's children have. She's documented all of her children at this age reading this fluently. Personally, for my kids it's more like 5-6, and closer to 7 for my special needs child. But Jady's concepts still apply, even for an "older" kindergarteners.
@rdcog2 ай бұрын
I followed her to a T and my daughter reads all of these things fluently. She is also reading many of the dr. Suess books. She’s only 4! She will be 5 in December! This works!
@herfocus812 ай бұрын
The younger the child, the more their brains absorb information. As they get older they are able to compliment that with strong memory retention. Jady's method works as I have been watching her channel for years....from when her oldest daughter was only three years old. I love her family, her values, the way she keeps order, her financial smarts and just her overall character as a woman, wife and mother.

Both my daughters read well by age 4. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for
@shailajapvl92862 ай бұрын
The method works for at least 60 to 70 percentage of the children. I have two kids. One of them learnt reading by the time he was four. He was reading books at his grade level or at an even higher level pretty fluently. My second kid is six and has ASD, ADHD and receptive and expressive language delay. He is also learning to read the letter sounds and letter names. He might not be reading the same as other grade level peers. But he is making progress and growing into his literacy skills every day. Reading is a taught skill. It is about working systematically and consistently with the right strategies. I personally feel many kids don't thrive so well at reading by the age of 4 because they have not yet been introduced to the letter sounds, letter names, or have not grown up in a book-rich environment where they have been regularly read to by the adults and not due to any lack of ability on their part.
