MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL is still the best film based on Arthurian legend in the English language, and may even be better than LANCELOT DU LAC or PERCEVAL LA GALLOISE - just as LIFE OF BRIAN might be the best biblical movie (challengers outside the English language again: GOLGOTHA, THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATTHEW) One thing not so clever about UNSTOPPABLE is that no character remarks that the situation reminds them of that movie RUNAWAY TRAIN

1st: That's what drives traffic up. 2nd: These videos wouldn't cause so much outrage if people these days weren't so big-headed to think that they (and *only* they) know how to differentiate a good production from a bad one. 3rd: Maybe people should stop over-analysing productions to find every possible flaw and thereby forget how to have a ton of fun even with flawed productions. There's something to be said about "haters gonna hate, no matter what". They're not only ruining the experience for themselves but for a lot of people who probably wouldn't have cared for flaws, hadn't they been pointed out to them.

The fact that you added that Spiral had a lot of nuance kind of made me question everything else you said in the video. It was laughably predictable and there was no nuance at all. Just because he was targeting corrupt police officers with his traps doesn’t mean the many many flaws of the movie can be overlooked. I was genuinely excited the first time I saw the trailer for it. But 20 minutes in I could tell it was never gonna live up to those expectations.

One: Holy Grail isn't a dumb movie Two: Idiocracy, arguably, is a dumb movie. I watched it when it came out and thought it was one of the dumbest movies Ive ever seen, and year after year, I am constantly reminded of it, to the point that it seems more like a documentary. Idiocracy should have been number one, in my opinion. Other than that, good list. Ill have to check out Hoodwinked.

It is correctly on this list as the satire is superb and often missed by those who want to be offended but it is hilarious in many ways. Love your work in general but this was just bollocks of the highest order.

Stan Helsing. A horror comedy. The movie is unapologetically dumb, crude and grabs the low hanging fruit like it's starving and yet it is chock full of homages, references, satire, irony and parody. It was so stupid but had me howling from the first 5 minutes.

The Naked Gun are even better since they are actually an adaptation of a canceled TV show that was great but didn't get ratings. Also, Unstoppable was great because it was based on a real event. The only real difference is the fatal and crazy botched derail scene. Otherwise that crazy runaway train stuff really happened.

Cube is the Cave Allegory with each character representing moral philosophies and arguments. Cube was never thought of as a stupid horror film. It was never thought of as a horror film. It's always been treated as a philosophical allegory of ethical debates while traversing Plato's cave until one character escapes into the light. Cube's only downside is how heavy-handed this point is. The writers of this video and this channel are just pure shit.

@WhatCulture Unstoppable: Was crappy because it changed the story for no good reason. There was no reason to put a stupid bridge up in the air with a curve over the city. Our trains are bad enough by them selves. A train with petro-chems can destroy a 50 mile radius by themselves with the toxic fumes and the wait it poisons the water table. If they would have used that as the "OH MY GOD, DANGER" then everyone could rightly look at the train tracks in their own town and realized that they are also in danger with the lax federal standards. With the movie (as is) people just think, well i'm ok because my town doesn't have a stupid curved air bridge.

Monty Python and Cube are pretty much the only actually smart ones.

I don't think the problem with the prequel trilogy is that the movies seem dumb. I think the main problem was the botched characterization of Anakin. If young adult Anakin had been given a better personality than young emo brat, and his turn involved something a little less stupid, the prequel movies would've turned out better. It was Anakin's petty immaturity and the unbelievable way that he went from wannabe-hero to child murderer that didn't really work.

Free Guy a 'smart movie'? Hah.. I see this movie as another corporate dumpster fire attempt at trying to tell us how online videogames, gamers, and social media work. And none of it lines up.
