Lethal Weapon is a movie set during Christmas not a Christmas movie. The difference, Christmas being central to the plot. Take out the few Christmas decorations strewn throughout the movie and it could take place on any random Tuesday. Hans' plan needs the Christmas party to work.

1. John travolta was rumored to have been considered for the role of McClane however since his career at this time period was in a rut it was decided not to take a chance. #2. Richard Gere was the first choice to play John he had no interest in the project even when they offered to raise the pay. #3. Gene Hackman was rumored to be the first choice for Sgt Powell but did not take the role for unknown reasons. The producers narrowed it down to Wesley snipes and Reginald Vel Johnson. #4. When Bruce Willis was offered the role of John McClane he originally turned it down due to moonlighting, it was only when his co star got pregnant and production of the show shut down, that Willis was able to take the role.

Lethal weapon also whoever said no well then idk what you're talking about I believe die hard is too and watch it on Christmas etc. but lethal weapon has Christmas music a damn Christmas set up in multiple places including a tree in the home when they kidnap the daughter and I mean that's more than die hard.
