Even tho the comics didnt make him more popular, Mr. Freeze is definitely the prime example of taking a joke of a villian and giving him a top tier upgrade in terms of the design and backstory when reintroduced in Batman TAS.

Sadly comics never quite managed to match that achievement... and with the New 52 actively went out of their way to ruin Freeze.

Wouldn't Dr. Destiny getting his ability to sleep and dream back be the best ending? It's revealed that his entire villain persona was a symptom of an unfathomable psychosis brought on from not being able to sleep for years. Him being able to sleep and therefore dream, means he loses his powers, and he'll also start to recover mentally, keeping him from doing anything bad in the future.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best stories need the best baddies. Don't get me wrong you can still make a great story without them, there are many, but the majority of great ones need an antagonist to push the climax to greater heights. You think of your favourite movies and stories, and I guarantee that there is a memorable and competent effort from the opposing side.

Soooooooooooooooo, you managed to bungle Doctor Destiny's story pretty badly. I don't think you even have a good excuse with the amazing audiobook available on Audible. For the record, John Dee AKA Doctor Destiny lost his ability to dream because of the actions of the JLA. His power came from Dream's ruby amulet. His altering it caused it to draw more power from Dream when he tried to reclaim it and gave him the power to drive the whole world to madness. After finally losing to Dream, he did not have his ability to dream restored. He (and the rest of the residents of Arkham Asylum) was given a peaceful sleep, still without dreaming. Very freaky story. Definitely read the original or listen to the audiobook.

The one thing I remember Deadshot from was _Batman: Gotham Knight_ - a compilation of shorts, each one animated by a different anime studio. It's also noteworthy that Kevin Conroy voiced Batman in all of them. It's also noteworthy that it serves as a sort of inter-quel between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The short featuring Deadshot also shares his name, and is animated by Studio Madhouse, whose notable features include Chobits, Trigun, Cardcaptor Sakura, Beyblade, Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, Hunter x Hunter (2011 version), Black Lagoon, High School of the Dead, Overlord, and freaking ONE-PUNCH MAN. Meanwhile, the short was written by Alan Burnett, who was writer and/or producer for a huge number of animated cartoons from the mid-late 80's to the late 2000's, notably The Smurfs, a few episodes of DuckTales and TaleSpin, and the entire DC Animated Universe (Batman: TAS, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited and even Static Shock)! Between them, this pair just about DEFINED our childhoods and teenage years. If only for Deadshot alone, I highly recommend _Batman: Gotham Knight_ to both anime fans and fans of Batman: The Animated Series.
