YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I WAS SAD THAT IT WASN'T IN THIS LIST BUT YOU LEAVING THIS COMMENT RESTORES MY FAITH IN HUMANITY!! Legend of the dragoon is the best game ever. Like for real 1. the addition system was brilliant for turn based combat because you actually had control in combat. Then 2 the story is incredible and 3 the soundtrack for every region was just absolutely brilliant!! I would love for an updated graphics version where maybe the armor and weapons changed appearance when you got new ones but that is all i would want changed honestly. Legend of the dragoon is my favorite game of all time. Like I own 3 copies just in case something bad happens to my first one.

@@madhatter9512 Plus that cast of CHARACTERS! There was so much depth to every one of them. Yeah, there were some Archetypes, but they were well done. Plus never actually coming out and SAYING a couple of the big reveals, just heavily alluding to them was brilliant story writing.

On top of my list would be Jade Empire one of Bioware's first foray into a real-time combat RPG and while it still gets a mention here and there in later Bioware games (one of the things that Cole from DA: Inquistion can say references the game's big twist) it's been largely forgotten.

Beaton Kaitos for the GameCube, was amazing. It had a crazy but endearing story, lovable characters, a several worlds to explore, and breathed some much needed life into the turn-based RPG genre with its card decks. It really deserves another chance!

@@RMagicKnight Can't say about the Switch version's controls, but it's an enhanced version of the mobile port. So, the handheld, touch controls are most likely the better ones. The original game in the DS also featured a weird gameplay system, touch controls for the protag and D-pad for your partner, which is battling on a separate battle area. The story, music and art are good though.

PROFOUND RESPECT for mentioning Silent Bomber!!!! It always felt like I was the only person in the world that played that game! It was awesome (even though the voice acting and cinematics were laughably cheesy). I played the demo for it at an Electronic Boutique ancient times ago. Like 1998? I forget. Bought the full game and played the heck out of it. Einhander and the Legacy of Kain series are also some gems that need remastered/revisited.

Downhill domination, an absolutely awesome game where you ride mountain bikes down hills through traffic and all sorts of crazy stuff it’s amazing it’s technically impressive and it has a fantastic soundtrack that really gets you pumped.

Two games that I feel should have been on this list, one I've seen mentioned in the first few comments already. First, Legend of Dragoon. It's an amazing game that was sadly overshadowed by Final Fantasy 7 which came out about the same time. The game had a fairly unique battle system in that attacks were timing based. Each attack a character could learn had it's own unique pattern to the button presses. If you missed part of the attack, you still did partial damage, but would do max damage the attack allowed if you nailed the timing of the full attack. You also could transform into armor that gave you wings and had you float on the battlefield, which gave a new type of timing-based attack for Dragoon mode. It also allowed you to cast magic spells unique to each character. Then there is Legend of Legaia. Another game with a more unique battle system. You play as three characters, Vahn, Noa, and Gala, as they journey to awaken Genesis Trees which will push back an evil mist. The mist causes creatures known at Seru, normally neutral creatures that can give humans special abilities such as flight or help them perform tasks normally out of their abilities, to become hostile and attack humans on sight. They can posses a human, who will become almost zombie-like while possessed in the mist. Battle involves you using the up, down, left, and right arrows to attack, and you can learn special moves that cause extra damage when performed, which can be chained together if you do things just right. It's one of the rare games from its time that shows your characters change in appearance when you equip new weapons and armor, and the Ra-Seru, friendly Seru unaffected by the mist who help the three heroes on their journey, also change in appearance as you awaken Genesis trees and level them up.

If they remade/remastered timeshift and made the puzzle sections better I would go nutty. Timeshift with modern graphics and shooter mechanics is something that I’ve dreamed about since I picked up an Xbox 360 box with a blockbuster sticker on it at GameStop a few years back.

All of the Privateer and Wing Commander games would be terrific on todays technology. Privateer in particular, was a frickin' AMAZING game. Open world, space flights, trading, ship customization, missions on planets. It had everything.
