The issue with both champions is that there isn’t anyone believable to challenge them in the interim. Outside of Seth, drew, or punk, there isn’t anyone on raw that is believable to defeat Gunther, and for Cody it’s only Roman, Rock, or maybe Randy.

Cody is the least interesting wrestler on the roster, he is so incredibly boring and generic it's crazy how excited people get for him. He's literally done nothing special since he won the title. The Bloodline doesn't need Cody, but Cody needs the Bloodline if he wants to stay relevant. It's funny how he doesn't defend the title that often and people are fine with it, but Roman doesn't defend it often and people cry and whine. It's quite simple for AEW. Nearly every match they run has to be that 30 minute five star classic. There's no diversity in the product. So if you like variety in wrestling or aren't big into those kind of matches, then you just won't care to watch.

For me personally the reason AEW became a thing is because WWE was getting stale or as a "Posh guy who likes wrestling" (List man) once said "there's an almost factory like lifelessness to it all" and that's why people gravitated to the "New toy" and as soon as WWE went back to the F-that era we get the viewers funnelling back to WWE.
