The Brawl for All was basically WWF trying to steal some of UFC's thunder by having UFC style fights in a wrestling ring, since they already had real UFC guys like Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn on their roster anyway. They wanted to give Steve Williams a big push because of his badass rep and his connection to Jim Ross, but Bart Gunn spoiled all that by coldcocking him.
