The story I heard about why Flair vs Hogan didn't happen at that Wrestlemania (or at all in WWF) was that Vince had them wrestle each other on the house show circuit and the matches didn't get the crowd reaction Vince was hoping they would get, so he cancelled the television feud leading to a pay per view match between them, and left a ton of money on the table by doing so.

Regal has completely denied falling off the wagon or being on PEDs at the time of this push and that he must have gotten a false positive or a mixup in his prescribed medication. I don't want to say I believe him 100%, but I do believe he didn't go back on pain meds after how bad it went for him in the 90s and how hard he worked to get clean.

#1 Hade Vansen: The dude was supposed to have his own cabal of X-Men mutants and was set to break the Undertaker's WrestleMania streak. Vince saw the 5'8" wrestler and instantly fired him. Hade Vansen never worked in the industry again.

Same can be said for Mordecai (Kevin Thorne). He was being built up as the anti Undertaker and for a feud against Taker, and then Vince saw how tall he was (6'4" which is much smaller than the Deadman) and cancelled it.
