I miss them so much... I bought over 50 of these lads and I really wish they were still made consistently. They are one of my favorite things Nintendo have ever done. There was so much potential here, but they never followed through on it, and that saddens me.

We got original amiibo for both link awakening and Mario 3DWorld not that long ago (they also rereleased the champion amiibo from BOTW when age of calamity came out), so non smash amiibo are still going strong (but smash amiibo were always the focus from the start)

Weirdly maybe I'm one of few but I still actively collect them. I own more than half of every amiibo. Will say the quality has got really good over the years especially comparing old splatoon to new splatoon figures. Edit:this all started with my lone metaknight that was hunted for me when he used to be pretty expensive.He is still my favorite :)

I think there’s still many who collect them for sure. I mean there’s a reason they’re still coming out with new figures unlike Disney Infinity. Even I still pick the odd one or two up, depending on the quality and if it’s important to me aha. Also Metaknight is genuinely a great figure and I completely can understand why he’s still your favorite haha

As someone who got to grow up with Skylanders and Disney Infinity, it’s crazy how well amiibo hold up. The figures are such good quality and they improve any room they decorate. I wish I had gotten more. (6:35 I missed regi’s voice)

I only have one amiibo, a SSB Kirby that I painted yellow. When I was a kid I would always use yellow Kirby in Kirby Air Ride and it's stuck with me to this day where I use his yellow variant in any game it's possible. Yellow Kirby holds a special place in my heart and the fact that I painted it myself makes the amiibo all the more precious to me, even if I did a terrible job lmao

Bruh, I remember the hunt for the fire Emblem Characters were insane here in Georgia. I also had to hunt down Kirby and Toon Link for my younger sister, and was luck to grab the last ones at my target. Or how my fiancee had to go to Gamestop hours before opening just to get the Ike and Robin amiibo for me. Jeez, I don't miss those days...

I was around 11 when the amiibo craze really started to hit in, and I was obsessed. That obsession faded fast and I gave all of my amiibos to my friend in 2016. About two months ago I got back into amiibo, bought some at my local retro game store, eBay, and got a few back from my friend, and I kinda regret missing out now. If not all the Smash amiibo, I'm at least going for the Fighter Pass 2 amiibo.

At the time of wave 4 I remember not really being in the best position in life, but I remember just looking at my amazing haul of every wave 4, and a brand new friend and game, I felt super satisfied for the first time in so long. It's starting to look like Byleth and Terry are going to be on the rare side of the amiibo spectrum. Their pre-orders are completely unavailable, I was able to get the Cats and Banjo though so that's sort of a relief I guess. Only the future will tell, fortunately the future is in like a month so I'll know if I'm right or not soon I guess.

I bought both banjo and byleth in store the day of release (a Friday) but they haven’t had Terry yet. I call the next day and they received it (but I couldn’t go that day) then the next day, all gone. And forget online, out of stock 2-3 weeks before release.

My favorite amiibo memory was getting my first Sonic amiibo due to my undying love for the character and his franchise, and that also extended into when I got Bayonetta (Player 1) for the first time as well thanks to my new love for the series after her appearance in Super Smash Bros., plus the fact that I have two boxed copies of Bayonetta, one of them signed by Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba of PlatinumGames.

I’m pretty darn grateful I got into the hunting game as early as the first couple of waves were coming out. I have most of the Smash Bros. amiibo, and didn’t have to pay insane prices to get most of them. It’d be a total nightmare to try and start collecting them all today...

I went to Walmart, Best buy and GameStop, they were sold out of Amiibos. Even the common ones like Squirtle were sold out. It wasn't until I stopped by Target and found a random Zelda that I finally found one. With a combination of the pandemic and I suspect scalpers, unfortunately they've been difficult to find unless you search online.

My favorite amiibo are Joker from Wave 18 from Fighter's Pass 1 and Sephiroth from Wave 22 from Fighter's Pass 2. Joker was my favorite since he was actually my very first amiibo I picked up from GameStop and Sephiroth is my second favorite since I picked him up from Target online. However, if you'd ask me who my absolute most favorite amiibo is, that would have to go to Sephiroth, because of his beautiful wing and his sword. Heck, his design is honestly my favorite out of all the amiibo we have for Smash Ultimate, including Persona 5's Joker's! Like Joker, he's my strongest amiibo in the game. The only difference is that he has Spirits on him while Joker doesn't.

I can tell you in 2022 the hunt (and price) for it is still real but it's more of a niche now then it was back then. That apparently stopped scalping but the prices for some discontinued ones are still are as big as ever.

Europe, at least on the east side, didn't have issues with some of the missing figures as US did. At least that's how I remember it. I always wanted to start collecting the Smash Bros. series but never had a drive to do it until hero and joker amiibos arrived. Week later I bought 6 used Smash figures and 2 from metroid set. The downside is that I spent way too much for one month but now I have planned my purchases for the future. And since i have friends overseas so I can get what I want easily. There's something great about the rush of getting those useless pieces of plastic, not to mention their quality. Can't wait to get squid sisters and off the hook amiibos for holidays.

The Walmart I got all my Amiibo from, didn't make as much as they thought, they had 3 walls of animal crossing amiibo and none were selling. So after that, Amiibo were preorder only, so I preordered all my Zelda Amiibo, but every now and then, somebody would pre order and not buy instead, so these would be up for grabs on the shelf. I was able to get the 8 bit Anniversary edition Mario and Link, and the Twilight Prince HD+Wolf Link without preordering, it was like winning the lotto. Oh and by the way, all my Amiibo were brought at regular price, no rediculious markup.

I got the amiboo I wanted. I really liked the fire emblem amiboo being used for fates as you get robin Ike Lucina Marth to the game and echoes I wish they were permanent. Codename steam was amazing to see use the figures. It was ok overall and the figures were basically cheaper forms of buying figures that were expensive I got all my amiboo super easy. My friend had buddies in Japan. Marth Lucina robin especially Ike were easy.

Amiboo wise robin super mvp his blast is amazing and I guess he went to steam while tharja went to the idol game. Marth was super good at close range damage and Lucina a nice mix of movement and archer. Ike not really good.

I’ve miss some amiibo over the years because of things like not having a ride, arriving to late on the day of release or delivery delay (there isn’t a store selling amiibo where I live, so we had to go to the next town) I missed Pearl&marina splatoon2 Alm&celica fire emblem (and celica is my favourite FE character) Female corrin (my smash main at the time) Terry smash But you’ll be sure that I’ll do everything to guarantee myself a pair of Pyra&mythra amiibo, that I can assure you.

I still see Robin for only 20 bucks on Amazon while Ike was bumped up to a hundred so I sorta assume he's not as rare anymore. Also not all amiibo are super overpriced. Waddle Dee and all of the Kirby amiibo are pretty low priced, despite being popular characters and being out for a while

Oh man, I remember trying to preorder the Ness amiibo. I predicted the site crashing and had easier problems with online preorders on other sites, so I went to the store before opening to wait in line. Turns out, the 5000 IQ geniuses that run Gamestop had decided to do ALL preorders online. Even if you preordered in-person it would just be the GS employee logged into the website preordering it for you. Yes, Game Stop idiotically crashed their own site and roughly only 5 customers per store actually secured an order.

It’s my favorite of the two DLC packages for sure and the extended lore and sense of adventure and mystery is really fun. Plus the raid dens was a very nice touch. At the same time, I do sort of wish it was a bit bigger of an area to explore, but I’m still having a blast in it currently!
