The reason why there is no information about Takako Mamiya is that her first album was a complete commercial failure. After the album failed, she married immediately and retired as a singer. This information was given by Kazuo Shina, who participated as a composer, arranger and performer of the album.

That can be true but the reality is that we don't really know how big and successful City Pop was in the 80's.For example,some of the early singles of Junko Yagami weren't successful at first and she's still around and made great records during the 80's and i think Love Trip is better that some records from the same period .Maybe Takako wasn't interested in keep trying and retired.

Love trip is one of those rare albums that have the power to change the way you feel after every track. It can make you feel like your on the top of the world and full of energy to feeling tired and calm and ready to drift asleep. It makes you feel the way the track feels. It’s a very rare find and the instrumental and vocals in it really make everything more full and more juicy. This is one of the main reasons why she disappeared from the forefront with just this one album. Perhaps it was because this album sales were not so good in the Japanese market at that time. Takako Mamiya was just only a singer hired for this ” Love Trip” album project. Because her album sales performance was not good in Japan, there was nothing strange or mysterious from a business point of view that she disappears after one album. She was one singer used in this music album project, she was not a songwriter and did not create this music. She was simply a singer who sang the songs on this album. Singers and singer-songwriters are different from the start, so it's not correct to confuse these two forms as the same thing in the context of Japanese city pop. Love Trip was just a one-off project for making the city-pop album by Kitty Records. Unless it was a big hit, it was inevitable that the project will be terminated with one album only. It seems that the executive producer of this album was an important person in Kitty Record Company at that time, and it may be that she happened to be the singer who simply fit this Kitty's project . Kazuo Shiina(Guiters, composer & arrenger), Katz Hoshi(composer,ex-Mops), Takao Kisugi(composer), Hiroyuki Namba(Key,composer), and other composers and total sound produced of the album was by Genji Sawai(sax). many of them who produced the music part of this album have been active at the forefront of '80s-'90s Japanese city-pop music scene , even after this album. And they have released many other albums for other artists. So it's wrong to say that this music "disappeared "with this one album. The fact was that as the singer in charge of this album ”Mamiya” was not used in the subsequent album planning. She was just a “hired singer” who wasn't involved in the production of the album's music. Other many of the female '80s-90s city pop artists such as Mariya Takeuchi, Taeko Onuki, Minako Yoshida, and Akiko Yano are all“Singer-Song Writers or Instrumental player”, but Takako Mamiya was just a singer who does not play instruments or compose music. There is a big difference in the classification of musicians between the two. “LOVE TRIP" Takako Mamiya Released: November 25, 1982 by Kitty Records Japan Sound produced by: Genji Sawai ・Musicians Vocal: Takako Mamiya Keyboard: Hiroyuki Namba (Sense of Wonder, ex-Tatsuro Yamashita's back support band) Guitar: Kazuo Shiina (ex-Hachimitsu Pai, ex-Moon Riders, ex-Tatsuro Yamashita’s back support band) Bass: Yoshihiro Naruse (CASIOPEA III) Drums: Yutaka Uehara (ex-Coconut Bank, ex-Sugar Babe) Percussion: Tatsuji Yokoyama, Tetsuaki Hozoku Brass Section: Hitoshi Okano, Toshio Araki, Osamu Shiomura, Shigeru Kawashima, Genji Sawai, Mitsuru Kanekuni ・Edessional musicians Keyboard: Akira Inoue (ex-Parachute) Guitar: Mitsuo Nagai, Tsunehide Matsuki Others

After releasing Love Trip, Mamiya was able to fully enter the WIRED and integrate herself into all art. Years later, a prophet was born as Zen Huxtable who was intended to bring us the truth. The message was lost when Zen blacked out from chugging twice his stomach's capacity in milk during a misguided attempt to reach 'sicko mode' and he now must spend his days trying to put together the pieces of the puzzle. We may never truly understand the Mamiya Takako no Shoushitsu.

That's a lesson about bigness vs greatness, if you create something with passion and enough care for detail, you'll likely be judged and silenced by the age you are committed to, but maybe in 40 years you might become a God to those who are sensible and prepared to understand the things you saw. I often think the same about Akimoto Kaoru. Although Kaoru's case is a little less mysterious as she made other contributions and small singles/tracks after her magnum opus Cologne (to me, the greatest album of city pop, yeah big statement!). To me, Cologne makes the whole 80s Japan-neon-night-themed nostalgia vibe hit like nothing else in city pop. The use of synths is out of this world. When I first heard Dress Down in MACROSS 82-99 track 『82.99 F.M』back in 2014 I was sent into another dimension. I still am today tbh. Keep it up! her album got removed from spotify ?
@GabrielMartinez-pe6ln2 жыл бұрын
Since it’s on streaming services, it’s not really official, it’s pirated and sourced from that KZbin vinyl rip video, if it was to be officially licensed then they should’ve used the 2012 remastered cd on streaming services for better sound quality. Pirating is against the law.
@schizoidfromsomewhere9341 Жыл бұрын
@@GabrielMartinez-pe6ln The entire album is on Spotify and KZbin now officially and you're correct as they used the 2012 remastering for it.

@@Stevem From what it describes on its Steam Page, it's an explorative, narrative based role playing game (as to its own description). I guess possibly in the vain of Ib, but more like Yume Nikki in it's open environment. Narratively I don't know, as the game is not in English. From what I gather, based on what it says in English on the Store Page, it has something to do with time travel, but looks like it has a motif of being stuck / transported to another realm à la Silent Hill / Ib. On the Steam page, it describes, "Easy and casual gameplay" and "You can focus on feeling the atmosphere of the story " which is why I feel it can more compare to Yume Nikki. Aside from that, I just like how it has a slight aesthetic tone reminiscent of Spirited Away. So far I haven't put too much time into exploring it, as I couldn't at the time, just thought I'd share it in the hopes of drawing greater public interest. Thank you for replying, sorry for the long time to respond, and the long retort at that. I hope it's something that also piques your interest. Maybe, she's among other celebrity hoaxes like Michael Jackson. Takako could just be hiding from the spotlight and living a peaceful life somewhere in China, away from all the media, news and people. It's still pretty sad tho.

Isn't it Ms. Takako? I think the given name is second in Japanese names.
@Stevem5 жыл бұрын
I have no idea ahahah it's Mr Yamashita not Mr Tatsuro (i think) Since her name is written in English it should follow English rules opposed to Japanese.
