My all-time favorite song + My all-time favorite band = HEAVEN

I am so happy to hear and see this song done FINALLY the way it was done originally!!! This was the lead song for the movie "UNCHAINED MELODIES" about a man in prison who will not see his wife ever again!!!! NOW, THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE DONE... SEPERATED FOREVER! SAD, SAD, SAD!!! These two guys in particular...TIM and AUSTIN were the perfect pairing for this song to be done RIGHT!!! TIM, you were marvelous! AUSTIN, spectacular as always!!! I REALLY LOVED THIS. GREAT JOB, HOME FREE!! EVEN the harmonies had that sad feeling of no return to LOVE!!! GREAT! While the movie did not do so well at the box office...the song will not be forgotten! TIM and AUSTIN, your sound was true to the way the screenwritter and musi director wanted it to convey that desperate sadness! MARVELOUS GUYS!!!

YES! I agree, I don't think about the not being instruments with Home Free, but I always do with all other acapella artists, and it off one of the things that make them unique. It's also why they call themselves a band, never they don't just don't, they do instruments with their singing. Incredible!

This song was written for a 1955 movie, Unchained, about a prison inmate longing to see his wife. Thus, the name Unchained Melody. The Righteous Brothers', Bobby Hatfield made it popular.

You've got to love a group that opens their mouths and awesomeness falls out! Adam is so precise with his beatboxing that I think everyone forgets that he's keeping the beat by mouth! That's a true compliment to the mastery of his craft. That we "forget" he's there. I hope you did show this to Mama and maybe you snuck a few turns around the kitchen dancing. ❤

The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family. The song focuses on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".

Dave isn't this AMAZING???? The arrangement and vision of the black and white homage to the 1955 movie Unchained..... Genius. My new favorite Home Free song.....but I've said that many times. Tim starting in the bass and then handing it off to Austin to finish. Great beat boxing and harmonizes from the rest of the members.

Dave, you are so cool. Your wife and kids are very lucky! Loved the reaction. So agree, the solos are incredible, of course, but the background of this was truly superior! Theirs always are, but there was something special about this one. How they fill in is what makes their music even more special! Of course, I'm from the doo-wop era, so they got me there! I love how they overlay their voices when they do a produced audio/video because you still get the super highs of Austin's voice and super lows of Tim's even if they are singing a solo at the time. Take care friend.

As much as I loved Austin's solo of this I am really loving this one now. The harmonies all put together has made it very special for me. Still makes me remember Patrick Swayze (Ghost) and what a loss of his talents was to the world 🌎. 🦋💕🎶

Patrick wasn't just an incredible dancer and actor, he could sing also!
From the internet: "This song first appeared in the 1955 movie Unchained, starring the former football player Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch. The movie takes place in a prison, and the song was written for the movie to reflect the mood of the prisoners as they wait for time to pass."

This is beautiful, so beautiful, their interpretation, “jail cells, who would have thought. I get it, just listen to the lyrics,,impressive. Just to let you know Dave as a youngster I remember when this sung by the Righteous Brothers. Now as a grandma ( yes, time goes by) I appreciate how the younger generation puts their spin on a classic song. Very hard for me to chose between this particular group & Voice play. I love & appreciate them both. Job well done. guys. Now go & hug your wife & kids. Because you need their ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I NEVER thought that this song, sung by ANYONE, would be set in a Prison. But it fits, almost perfectly. To me, who ever thought of that deserves a lot of the credit. Has this song ever been transformed into a song sung in a prison before? If so, please share it with me.

@What It Do Dave...morning, :) and hope this day finds you well? So yes, to use the term correctly -- In the musical sense, when singing, for a certain word or sentence, That is a variety of terms, but mostly people commonly call that technical process, Emphasis. this also works for actors to act out and sometimes Ad lib in a script. 1 example, In Jaws, when actor Roy Scheider actually is on the boat deck Chumming over scent contents over the deck to Bloody up the water so they could attract "Bruce" closer so Quint so shoot the shark...When The Shark raises its head to right under Chief Brody's hand, scaring the literal Crap right out of him, when Brody SAW the Sharks TEETH SO CLOSE TO HIS HAND as He is Slowly backing up to inside the control cabin, All He could do was Emphasize the Giant OPEN MOUTH and Sharp teeth--To point out Its GIANT MONSTER SIZE---He side ways glances over to Quint and What does he say?? He spewed out the only thing that rushed to the top of his mind: He AD LIBBED...Completely the infamous line...You're gonna need a Bigger Boat! Which took a plain, killer shark movie, and made it the Most Classic Shark Movie EVER MADE!! because he Forgot his actual line to say from the script He just uttered the First Instinct thing he could come up with...That "Bigger Boat" line was so monumental Because That was the way HE EMPHASIZED it. :)
