not slow, an real 11.50 streetcar aint slow buddy. Dont you feel bad at all. The fun to repair factor is also much, m8ch higher and longer at 11.50 than 9.50.

Simply finishing the week with a running car is a feat in itself, don't worry about your time and focus on getting to the next track. You'll be happier knowing you finished rather than dragging home a broken car. Have fun & good luck.

You have built an awesome car. 11.5 is respectable for a heavy 4 door. Good job. 😊😊😊

Little things to try: go up 2*, go down 2* from your current timing. Take the roof racks off and could always take the rear seats out to drop a little weight.

@chadduplantis859112 күн бұрын
I just appreciate that you didn’t put an LS in it. Hey 11 sec in a 4000 lbs car naturally aspirated is awesome enjoy your week and have the most fun.
@firebirdjone12 күн бұрын
Keep having a good time. Anyone telling you it's slow has no idea how difficult it is to make 4000+ lbs go down the track fast. I have 2 A-bodies that are both over 4100 lbs. It's a challenge. Not to mention that 540 is blueprints power adder engine, it's only 8.5:1 compression and advertised a little over 600hp. It's probably the most docile and streetable BBC in the whole sick week field that'll run on any pump gas you care to put in it. I'd rather see cars like yours than the pro mod chassis cars with a license plate. Best of luck.

Great day at the track! This is a good start for the learning curve. I know it sound (what! No Way!) but document you daily Times, ambient temp, Tire temps and pressures, and motor vitals. That way when you race in the great North you have a reference. all that will help you down the track every race.

Honestly never ran a 11.90, i mean 15 seconds was what we were getting with our first cars back in HS days, and we would go to bar 38 near Naperville after, had a blast doing it. Best summer ever. One kid put a dry 50 shot nitrous and ran a 12, another bought a motorcycle and we lost him the next year, he was on his bike, but he ran a 10. Not always about being fast, I'd rather make memories. What it's all about. I'd stick with the 1150, try to count if you can ehile running and if you get to 11 try to lift a little early. Not a lot early but a little befor the finish.

After watching a few of these events, i'd like to suggest: Learn where the time slips to be turned in, is at. Seen a lot of confusion on when/where to do so. Have fun and be safe. It never hurts to ask questions, what i've seen from Bailey's Sick Week's, Rocky Mtn. race week or others, fellow racers, spectators, people and business' on the route are very happy to chat and help in any way they can. Side note, do you know of Dan and Dani from DD Speed Shop on YT? Thats so cool, two 4 drs

If you ever get into east texas, southern oklahoma, arkansas , louisiana- pm me man, i will run over to help you with car/event. I Crew Chief a 5.80"s 1/8 mile Nss car and, we generally stay in the top 3 in points, pretty decent tuner/suspension guy. So, if your down this way and can use some extra eyes/filming car for tuning etc- be glad to help bud. Want to see you be successful . ( Yes, im an old guy just wanting to help the next gen have a blast and be successful. Sorry if this is too straight forward, seems like trolling etc- no, not trying to build a channel off you and yours. Just a racer that love racing man.

My 70 Torino with a mild 460ci ran 13.90's very consistently and was a handful on the street so 11.50's is pretty darn good for a street car
@umakemerandy366911 күн бұрын
17:54 is SO DAMN COOL!!!! love
@keystoneweapon112 күн бұрын
11.53 is not slow, especially for something that’s street legal. Good luck on Sick Week I’m looking forward to following along!
@MikeParker-d7o12 күн бұрын
The 11.30’s pass was better because you shifted out of second before the rpm limiter. At least it sounded like you got into the limiter a little on the previous two passes. Mess around with the shift rpm’s to find where the cam likes it best and it will run its best. Cool car!
@dptp9lf12 күн бұрын

lol In the words of Gary Williams. Williams carburetors take that air filter off and install a flow ring and that’s 5-6 more horsepower
@93_LXcpe12 күн бұрын
2nd pass would have been quicker but it sounded like you hit the rev limiter at the 2-3 shift. All the times were better up to that point. Good luck on Sick week. Go Canada
