As an introvert with a keen sense of responsibility and work ethic, my ability to honour my needs started when I set an intentional "home alone day" where I allowed myself to do ONLY what felt good and restful. It's been many years now, and carving out that day to rest has been extremely healing and restorative. Hope you find that place of wellness.

I think everyone can resonate with your message. I recently a left a job that I had originally pursued as I thought it was the right thing / way to go after graduating uni, but it totally drained me every single day and had a big toll on my mental health. I now work a simple job that may not be what friends / family expect of me, but I have never been happier in my life prioritizing myself over work. Life is too short!

I am 50, and I am a month away from turning 51. I have for a few years heard a calling to try something else. Last week, I told my director I was ready to step down from my job, a move I am hoping allows me more time and mental space to hear the calling more clearly. Wishing you courage and expansion in your next steps.

My immune system tanked hard this last winter and spring. I went away for three weeks in June. I swam and walked every day, got 10 hours of sleep, drank fresh home-made juices, and ate fresh or smoked fish each day. The immune system came back. My skin and hair looked and felt much better. This might work for you, too. Thanks for the sincere, thoughtful videos, Isabel.

from someone who's had chronic fatigue for the last two years, believe me, health and self care is EVERYTHING. everything else, not just work but even friends and relationships are secondary to your own relationship with your spirit and body. you are so right, it's completely not selfish, it's absolutely essential.

She eats an entirely vegan diet, she's probably not getting enough of certain vitamins, lack of B Vitamins can make you feel weak, lack of Iron can make you feel weak. She should take a Multivitamin for about a week or two and see how she feels, if she feels much better then she knows what the problem is.

CFS can be crushing. I was first diagnosed in 1999. Three rough years, then remission until covid hit me this past January. CFS is back worse than ever. Self care is not selfish in the negative ways we are programmed to believe. You cannot pour from an empty cup. As anyone with CFS knows, we often begin our days on ‘empty’. We must do things for ourselves before we can do them for others.

“Malaria Man No More Malaria man was me Eleven times infected. My body could not fight away What mosquitoes had injected. I had tried most every medicine And homemade remedy. But somehow those little critters They still multiplied in me. Then one day a friend of mine She shared some information. She told me of a substance That could help my malaria frustration. She told me of a substance That she called MMS. The first word being miracle Perhaps snake oil I would guess. I had become quite desperate in my search for some relief. So I decided I would to try it despite my unbelief. I did a lot of research to ensure it would not kill me. And despite much disinformation I discovered it might just heal me. Now that was many years ago and I am happy to implore Because of this great substance I am a malaria man no more.”

I was in that "always sick and takes forever to get better" situation for like seven years and you're completely right that overwork contributes. I was sick constantly in college because I was studying so much and working part time too. And physically demanding jobs also tend to make it worse. Once I changed my work situation to one that was more balanced, I've stopped getting sick as often and I find myself fighting things off much better.

Awwww, Isabel, started watching this 45 minutes after you put it out. Love your psychological and philosophy outlooks on life. Glad Logan is back. It's like your life's not quite complete when he's not there. Loving and learning are the basis of life. Wish you all can put out more videos because you're happening are special. Yes I get it when you get too busy and miss the present moment. Big problem with the human race. I used to do that when I was young like you all, spending a night below freezing in my vehicle and it sure is an experience. So many of us wish we could be there with you all. Well I guess I've got enough so you too stay strong and God centered and catch you the next time around, they're in the woods somewhere, by now.

As you get older you will stop circling those feelings and will have a head on collision with those emotions. Just make sure the first priority you have is family and friends and your God cause one day those people will pass on or leave and you won’t have regrets about you loved them. Also our bodies and minds can only put up with us for so long so have fun while it’s not hard to do!!

Oh dear Isabel. I think you give your angels a lot of work watching over you. Your videos are wonderful,... and yet I feel like a Grandma Bear. When you take off on a trip, or a hike... please prepare for the unexpected. And, in wintertime,... even more important. There's just some basic things to have on hand. When you're young one tends to feel invincible. Pioneers knew the value of having the right basic tools, and thinking for the unexpected. Those that didn't... probably didn't make it into a long life.

Agree with the all lovely positive comments above..but one think ( when you were talking about being sick a lot lately) ..perhaps you could incorporate more animal protein into your diet..( I was vegan for a few years myself)..just the eggs, kefir or quark..perhaps fatty fish from time to time..please do your research..important for your brain too and Logan 's strenght and energy. Sorry if this is unwanted advice, I mean it in good will..sorry for my English, hugs from Europe, Gabi

Anyone else find it tone-deaf for her to be waxing poetic about the woes of having no job, living on a mountain where she can make homemade bread everyday? And yet she's talking about not being present as though she has a 9-5? Something is cringe about this.

I agree she is lucky and has a amazing lifestyle. However she still works, it’s just a different type of work to our 9-5, physical work (building and maintaining her home) and creative work, filming and uploading. Because she’s made this lifestyle her career the lifestyle is less peaceful than it would at first seem.

Geez Isabel you truly are special you have a way about yourself to get others to reflect. Beautiful video I am 59 years old and yes everything you said is so true for all of us, this is living...when we give ourselves the grace to be in the moment and also to go ahead and do what we dream of doing especially when it takes us out of our comfort zone...You are way beyond your years in wisdom....you are a muse to many I am sure.

I'm getting a little bit tired of the clickbait thumbnail ... usually it's still a part of the video but this time i really see not point with the bathtup picture. Well, I do and it's gonna work but i wish she didn't need to do it.

@@anabelrios i'm gonna be honest i genuinely missed it. My point remains though ... we all know why she chose this part when it's 5 seconds and does not represent the video at all.

its scary because not all people have the money to fund their dreams. I feel like youre in a very priviliged situation with your supportive relationship and family. Not all people have that so security is more important than chasing that art career

She is probably making between $2Ok to $30k per month from her KZbin channel. And, yes, she is privileged in having start-up funds and living rent and utility free. But as you can see this is far from a stress-free way to make a living.

Everytime I watch your videos I get more confused about your struggles. You say you feel overworked but your recent past videos talk about how many books you have been reading, how you’ve neglected your garden and how you haven’t been doing much of anything? Sorry I’m just confused I guess.

Since you've been getting sick, don't assume it's just overwork. Try and look at what's changed besides work. What supplements are you taking? What have you changed in your diet? Have you had the soil tested in your garden? How about the water? Gave you had it tested? Are you taking too many probiotics? Etc. Also, have you gotten free covid test kits? If you haven't already, you should see a doctor too.

All this talking.....Thanks for sharing but I really prefer the videos where you are doing things -- even just simple things in the kitchen or the woods, not just this stream of consciousness talking, that gets old and everyone's doing it. Don't change your style of filming completely, that's what made you so popular, and unique -- like the scene at the end, at 16:12, exquisite! Like a mellow portrait, I paused it just to take in all the details of the room, the things there.... please keep making those kinds of videos.

Love your channel, Isabel. I don't know if you were jabbed with the mRNA (spike protein) or not, but if so, studies and people are sharing that their immune system has been compromised and weakened following the jab. They are getting more colds and flus symptoms since getting the jab. It is being recommended that people should take NAC, D3, Zinc, Vitamin C, and Quercetin. These will bind with the spike protein, block it from binding to the cell membrane and entering the cell.

Why are ALL her jpeg pics click bait? Why does she feel the need to make people believe that is what they will see? I'm wondering what it has to do with her channel, overall. Now I'm seeing what others have said, this seems to be nothing more than trying to be something she is not. To me this is all fake and attention seeking? Just my 2 cents
