That's the ultimate watch, IMHO. Thanks for your great watch videos!

Interesting, had no idea, thanks for clarification. And you are true about polished surface showing more scratches, I mixed it up. I really like Ti watches, because I like bigger watches, but not heavy, so Ti is perfect. What I don't like is the scratch resistance, I had Ti watch a while ago and in a week, I already had 3 scratches on the case, never happened with other 316L cases.

Titanium is very hard to polish to a mirror like surface. Depending on the grade, often times it will polish with an orange peel effect. Grade 5 Ti will polish up better, but getting it to a mirror surface is difficult. In addition, titanium develops a surface oxide layer as it reacts to oxygen. This layer can make a polished surface look cloudy over time. A polished Ti surface will show scratches more than a satin finish.

The 44mm titanium version is the 025, which was introduced in 1998. I am not aware of Panerai ever producing a 40mm Submersible model.

Thanks! It measures 17.5mm including the full height of the crystal.

Really nice review, thanks :) Just curious, how come watch manufacturers don't use polished titanium more often on watches? Wouldn't that make the surface more scratch resistant, but you would still have the lightness of the Ti?

Despite not having the traditional COSC certificate like the older models, is the 305, more specifically the P. 9000 calibre, still COSC certified chronometer?

Hi, If you were to review both the Pam305 and Pam389, which do you personally prefer and why?
@watchnuttv10 жыл бұрын
I've never handled a 389, so my opinion is purely subjective. I prefer the look of the 305, simply due to the bezel style. If exposure to a highly magnetic environment were a concern, I'd take the 389.

Thank you very much. I plan to make a decision based on the look rather than features between the two.
