My mom got me a tiny glass jar of Nutella as one of my smaller gifts this year. It's like an inch tall and looks exactly like the regular jar. It actually has a tiny amount of Nutella in it, super cute.

Sarah- Thank you. I think I have a stomach bug, on top of dealing with a few other things- symptoms of an autoimmune disease and inner ear issues. Working to find a diagnosis, but until then I’m just trying to take care of myself. I hope you feel better soon as well! Ginger ale, chicken broth, saltines, and Pedialyte are really helpful!

These are so cute!! I’m obsessed with miniature things too. I was watching The List on tv a few years ago and I remember they said the reason we’re obsessed with miniature things is because it brings out our maternal instincts. Apparently our brains view them as babies in a way.

Think of Eeyore from "Winnie the Pooh" or the "big eyes" paintings of Margaret Keane. We see these sad characters and want to comfort or protect them, maybe cheer them up. Secondly, I think it makes toys seem more alive if they can express emotions other than "all-encompassing, overwhelming bliss," which is what most toys and dolls convey. If you see a bunch of dolls, 99% of them are going to have big smiles on their faces. So the one who's pouting or crying grabs our attention. Therefore, a sad milk Shopkin exists.

Im late but I also think its a relatable thing. Because kids do experience so many emotions and look to validate them and relate them to other things that experience what they experience. Not everyone is happy and the world seems to push away feelings that arent pleasing. So I think in a way it kind of shows them that they aren’t alone.
